Called the number back. After long wait call answered. They cold call people who got a quote for van insurance near date of possible renewal. She SAYS my number will be removed from their data base. I told her I would be contacting their complaints department/OFCOM if I received any more calls.

They are an insurance broker. I called them and asked them why they were calling my mobile number to which he didn't answer me. I then said can you remove me from your list as I don't wish to speak to you. The man asked me for my number which I was reluctant at first, but he said he could remove me once I gave him my number, so I gave him it. He then asked if my name was something that it wasn't and then said I will update the system and hung up straight away..... Rude f**k wits

For the last 2 days have had 3 calls a day which i ignore. I ignore them after the very first time i answered someone spoke the other end and then hung up! Rude. I am a very busy mum of 4 young children and do not have the time for these calls. My husband thinks it is 2 do with the callers having targets to meet and they need to be seen to calling people certain number of times.

Answered a call from this number as it was identified on my phone and immediately had a guy singing down the phone to me, seemingly in a foreign language. I didn't say anything (being quite shocked) and he got to the end of his first bit of song, then paused and sang a bit more, then hung up.
No idea what it was all about, but I would bet good money that it was nothing useful, especially after reading the comments above. -

This company is Brightside Insurance. Their address is MMT Centre, Aust, Severn Bridge, Bristol. BS35 4BL. Their direct phone number is 01454 635860.
They have recently phoned me several times, always going to answerphone. Today I answered it. They claim to be calling as they say I got a quote from them 12 months ago for Public Liability Insurance - I did not! My number is registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) and as a result I reminded the caller that I should not be getting 'follow up' cold calls. I have now reported their pestering to the TPS.
My number is ex-directory and has been for 30 years. When giving out my contact details I always stress, 'no cold calling or unsolicited mail'.
I suggest to anyone who receives an unwanted phone call to immediately ask the caller for the address from which they are making the call and also the name and contact number of the company on whose behalf they are phoning. I find that cold callers do not like to be asked questions but why should we tell them all they want to know - when we don't even know whom they are!

same as most of the other comments/complaints this number phoned me my 6 yr old answered they asked if it was me they were told 'no i am *********' then they asked if i was here they were told yes and asked who they were then they hung up without saying who they were or waiting until i got the phone etc. Very rude!!! After searching for the number threw google i found a few sites with the same situation as myself and funnily enuf i just used price comparison sites for car insurance quotes 3 days ago so i assume it must be connected to that now. Do not understand y they r phoning 4 a start i don't need the insurance until i purchase a car which i informed them when using the sites but also y hang up when they get an answer and the person is clearly there? Surely they have to pay for the calls they r making i know its not much for a land-line call but i will have to pay for the calls i made 2 them as i called back 5 or 6 times to find out who it was with no joy. It just kept asking me to put in the extension number for the person u want to reach you may dial it now then after asking that 3 times it cut me off (hopefully its not charged as a premium rate number) so thats when i googled it. I think its very strange not good business as far as i am concerned ! ! ! !

Called about my Van insurance, asked for my Date of Birth. I asked why did he need that? He said, to prove who you are and I said "And that's exactly why I am not giving it to you. I know who I am. You called me. I don't know who you are. Send me an email from your company email address with a phone number and I'll call you back"... He hung up.
