Redialling the number I am told that I was contacted by Ethicall, found their details online which read "Based in Bristol, we run both national and local campaigns for charities large and small. We are "proper passionate" about everything we do and pride ourselves on keeping each of our charity clients and their supporters really happy"

Surely no charity would call and ask for your bank details over the phone? Also there are a wide variety of charities quoted and(one) PPI. I think its a scam.
If I want to donate I use 'just giving' or the charity's own website. -

Same number has tried to call me daily for weeks.
I have installed an android app called CM security which blocks numbers you have reported and also what the other app users have reported.
You will still receive a notification that they have tried to call though. -

Charity mugger, ringing on behalf of Water Aid, though I naively thought he was genuinely with them. Asked for my bank details which I declined to give, but guy was pushy and I had to say it more than once. Have blacklisted this number now.

Repeated calls to my mobile number but never left a voicemail message. When I finally answered (just to get rid of it), turns out to be one of those charity muggers ("calling on behalf of Cancer Research UK") who fast talks you into signing up to direct debits. Luckily he chose a day when I can barely talk! Please don't judge me - I do give to charity - but to causes I believe in, & when I can afford to!

A female called saying she was making calls on behalf of Macmillan Trust, she wanted me to give full banking details so she could complete a Direct Debit for only a few quid per month. The lady was very convincing in her approach, well practiced in removing any fear of my doing anything silly. I cut the call short by saying I would never do such a thing based on a 'cold call' on the phone.
