   This number called at 7.20pm but left no message, I've been pestered by the RAC off an 0845 number for some weeks now, but when I've answered I politely tell them that I'm busy and hang up. I've noticed that a couple of people have mentioned the RAC on this page so am presuming they're trying to get me from a different number.

   called claiming to be AMEX asked for month of birth whic I stupidly gave - instantly hung up - I suspect that thy ask this question and many may give their full DOB on rely happily I didn't Just added them to my blocked calls list on my call blocker

    This number keeps calling ,as I have had other nuisance calls I now have an answer phone and monitor calls. this particular caller connects, but takes 20-30 seconds to begin call - when no response is received hangs up

    Usual thing. Clearly voice-activated, as there's a long delay before speaking. Asked to speak to me by surname, so I just hung up. In the past I've listened to what their introduction, and then politely told them I'm not interested, and thanks for calling. Nowadays I just put the phone down. If it's a genuine caller, then they'll call back ... which they never do.

    Apparently called from Amex offering a 'new product'. When I asked what the product was in relation to, she told me she would not tell me unless I went through security questions. I said I wanted more information and she hung up.

    Claimed to be Amex and tried to sell some insurance. Later checked on the Amex website and this insurance exists. But still they were pulling bits of personal information during the call, like address and date of birth

    Thanked me for loyalty to Amex and knew card type and when I originally got the card. Trying to sell small claims insurance. Refused to send information by post and hung up immediately when I said I was therefore not interested.

    Claimed to be American express offering credit service similar to Experian but from a credit checking company I've never heard of before.
    Said had to answer questions before they could send policy. Declined politely as they would not send any information in post without me answering financial questions.

    Another phone pest - when is action going to be taken to stop these calls? It's like having someone constantly ringing your doorbell. Would that not be a publicnuisance. Fine these companies to stop them.

    Rang offering 3 months free extra accidental injury cover before paying for Bronze, Silver or Gold policy extension. Had my birthdate. Offered to set this up on the phone,..told him to send me the info in the post and I'd think about it. Sounded OK but not 100% sure.

    This cold call happened while I was out in the garden. I did a 1471 and obtained the number. Searches on the internet suggest that it was orange or amex. Both have my details but neither has any need to call me.
