Had call from this number on my mobile this morning. Silence when I answered and I was about to hang up but then a guy came on the line and said he was calling from a company called HYC. Said he was calling to check if I had received the money back from the PPI claim I had apparently submitted!(even though I haven't submitted a claim!) Very noisy in background, some sort of call centre. Quickly turned aggressive, so I hung up.

this number is calling my daughter's mobile. We never gave them her number and neither as she. When I tried asking who he was and told him he had just phone a child, he had a go at me for buying a phone to my daughter, saying he didn't do anything wrong I did! I bought the phone for her protection when she walk home from school (she is 11) not for strange men to call her after getting hold of her number somehow! Really mad about this...oh and when I tried to ask to complain, he put the phone down!

I took this call today - guy claiming himself to be HYC. Mentioned to me stuff regarding PPI.
I retorted that I haven't got any loans or cc but he ignored me and began his long spiel regarding banks and their improper practices (how ironic). Suffice to say, I let him ramble on and when I didn't answer his question, he hung up.
Ignore this call if you don't want to waste your time.
Take the call if you want to waste theirs. -

extremely persistent PPI claims. kept him on 5mins (tried to sell him a pre-paid funeral and failed) I finally put the phone to the radio and let him listen to Ken Bruce. He ended the call at that point (Obviously not a fan Sorry Ken)

I'm in Scotland. I received a call from this number while I was at work...couldn't answer. I called back several times, but the line just sounds dead...three beeps. I've had this kind of thing before from different numbers..usually a PPI-related call. I've probably missed out on an amazing cash flow injection into my bank account, a once-in-a-lifetime sales opportunity or a fantastic holiday to the Bahamas. But for now, I've just saved the number as 'Crank Call' and I advise you do the same.

Guy calls me on mobile and asks for a man. When told wrong number he goes into April to sell PPI recovery. He would not believe I never had PPI despite the fact am chartered accountant and well banned up!!!! Very very aggressive indeed. Really bad for cold caller to be so incredibly aggressive to unknown female.

Called about PPI, insisted I was owed thousands. When I told them I done all my claims myself and had resubmitted a claim to be checked again and had all my money back they then went on to say that I wasn't doing a proper job and was ultimately depriving my children of a family holiday, family car or extra money for christmas which they could get for me as they were more professional and had more authority to dig deeper into my banking situation with my bank than what I had mysel.....haha whatever. They made a big mistake bringing my children into their push to get me to cooperate and received the very sharp end of very sharp end of very infuriated tongue

Has repeatedly called, I have ignored before but that doesn't mean I have not been woken/disturbed at work. Finally answered today to tell them to leave me alone because I am not entitled to PPI, guy got very pushy and patronising bordering on aggressive, I will be complaining to the TPS

Had a call from this number, but didn't answer, since the number was unknown to me. It is terrible that we feel under siege from harrassment callers, that we cannot answer our phones for fear of of scammers trying to rob us. This is another curse of the Techno Age. Stanley Kubrick and Arthur C. Clark never said the 21st Century would be an era of petty crooks undermining communication systems.

They called me today, I didn't answer because I don't answer numbers that are not known to me. They didn't leave a voicemail so I thought it can't be that important. I called back to see who it was but it just beeped and cut off. Now I googled it and this came up, I wish I answered it so I could have told them where to stick it. I hate people like this, I wish I knew where they got my phone number from.
Richard B replied 1/28/16, 8:09 PMYes it's so annoying. Every time I get a call from this PPI number within a few hours I get calls from 0843 numbers as well. They've got my mobile number from somewhere, and keep changing their number by a few digits so that blocking only works for a while. Did you know that if you give Argos your mobile number, you need to OPT OUT of marketing calls. I think you should need to OPT IN if you want this rubbish!! -

HYC Manchester. I was a little bored so gave them a fictitious name, a real address, loads of BS about Credit Cards I got; even telling him I'd had refunds and my 8% interest too, but he insisted I was still entitled to more. Told me it was no win, no fee but if they did get anything then they got 30% plus VAT; that's 1/3 of the claim. So he took all my details and then passed me through to a colleague who then went through all the same questions again to confirm the details and that I was to sign the forms they will send out and return them to them. Paperwork arrived today and has gone straight into recycling. The call took 22 minutes, then there's the printing of the forms and the postage too. So it's cost them a pretty penny.

Told him I'd dealt with it myself. Started blathering that I may on have received full amount.
Told him I'd sort it myself.
He then got very pushy wanting my bank details.
Told him I wasn't divulging that info and wanted to be removed from their database.
He got quite shouty and aggressive.
I got fed up with him, hung up and added number to my reject list.
