   Female asked for me by name. I did not respond to that & said "Who is that Please?"
   she said something about "Dept of Finance" so I recognized it as a scam & imminently hung up.
   
   These people are clearly crooks & v. nasty with it.
   You say as little as possible & hang up as soon as you realize they are
   phony Marketeers.
   This way you have some sense of having controlled them & minimized the anger feelings

   I use a Call Blocker unit which will stop all number withheld numbers &
   No's I tell it to stop.
   Has stopped around 85%+ of the Junk calls.
   search "cpr call blocker" on Ebay & Amazon as well = around £35 for a small
   
   plastic box.

   SCAM - Male - Indian, asked for me by name, advised recent bank payment had been overpaid & I could get money refunded. He then gave my correct address & asked me to confirm this was correct. Told him this was excitinging news - I have someone with me at the moment, give me your number & I'll call you back. He hung up immediately.
   
   Do not ring your bank/credit card company immediately, it may reconnect you back to the caller who will then ask you to confirm your personal details - very dangerous. Instead call any other number, your mobile or a wrong number & apologize; this should ensure you are not rerouted back to the scammer.

   A man with a strong Indian accent on a crackly, obviously long-distance line asked for me by name, then started to tell me that my bank had been charging me interest that I could get paid back. I immediately told him that this was obviously a scam and that I wasn't in the slightest bit interested. I spoke firmly, but without being abusive. He hung up before I could finish the sentence.

   I received a call by a lady with an Indian accent. She already had my last name. When I asked her to confirm my first name since me and my dad both have the same title and last name she got irritated. I just hung up after that.

   Had a number of calls from this asian fellow,one about a chq one about a car accident claim...very nasty...has shouted at me and on other 'whos number' sites ..hundreds of people have had him ring with him being vulgar and shouting and swearing at them....do not go near with a barge pole !!    told me that i was being given back some money i deserved.
   
   asked for my date of birth and confirmed my address. i refused to give date of birth.
   
   when i called back it seemed like a residential address.
   
   very suspicious

   Claimed to be from UK Finance, foreign sounding voice, most likely Indian. Mention hidden charges and sending a cheque for payment. Asked me to confirm name and address. I didn't, and they hung up. Sounded really dubious to me

    Asked for my date of birth to confirm who i am. Said he was sending me a cheque , knew my name and address, for illegal bank charges. Hung up when i asked for a number to call him back on.

    Have had this number ring me a number of times have caller ID and it showed up on my display. Not spoken to anyone. Will tell friends and family as many as I can.

    When asked how they got my number the Indian/Pakistani male caller immediately hung up. I tried to call this number and it is not recognised so is obviously a scam. Ask who is calling and that the number is being monitored, if they do not hang up immediately at least be aware that it is probably a scam and DO NOT give any person details.

    Caller is from india or so and wanted to sell me something. The name of the company he did not call me, and thus it is all very dubious
