Fishing for information regarding insurance. Life insurance, home insurance etc.
A lot of calls where the line goes dead after I answer, then sometimes they ask for me by name.
Tell them I'm not interested but just keep on calling. -

This company keeps calling, sometimes several times a day, when I answer and say hello they hang up. So today I called them back, and got a recorded message "Your Call is important to us, please hold" the message does not state the compnay name. I hung up and called again later. this time Someone replied. thye knew my name and address and said that I had had a conversation with them some time ago about a mortgage and life Insurance, and they were following this up. I asked the company name and they said "Secure Solutions". I told the woman I had never spoken to them before, then gave her short srift about her company calling and hanging up, not leaving a message etc, that these were nuisance calls and I found very distressing as I have a long term illness, and I dont like repeated calls not knowing who the caller is. I also stated that I am on the Telephone Preferenial services and that it is illegal for her company to call me. She apologised and stated tht it is a direct dialler that makes the calls, but I pointed out, that AFTER someone answers, the call hangsup, and that what they are using the direct Dialler for was to find out if it was a valid number and whether there is someone on the other end of the line. I also told her when she was making the usual rubbish excuses in her apology, that this company had been harassing lots of people with it's calls, there were compliants circulating on the web about it, and that I would be reporting the compnay. She apologised agin and told me they would take my number off the list. I feel that everyone who gets these calls from this company or any other compnay should complain and report them, as nowadays there is a proliferation of these types of calls, which I personally find stressing and unpleasant - legislation needs to be tightened up on this, but it wont happen unless people complain!

This number calls around 3-4 times a day over the last 2 weeks and always hangs up after a silent pause. No idea who they are or why they keep calling but this is annoying to say the least.

They are Insurance firm accept they are not FCA regulated. They have a London number but are based in Altea & Benidorm, Alicante, Spain. They are opportunist who call trying to sell SKY TV insurance. They don't take no for answer, they constantly hound and harass till you pick up. They sold a policy to my 90 year old grandmother with Dementia. I called up to cancel and they were pissy about it. Avoid this boiler room company at all cost! They have a new company called Eurotech trying to sell websites, designs and layouts.
