   Sounded like a call centre. A lady with an asian accent asked for the householder and on being told that he was not available, asked me if I could access the house computer.I asked who she was calling for and why. She said something like Quantum Security,and said that internet use could import all sorts of corrupt files and malware to my hard drive, and that they would talk me through a simple procedure on the computer, and then give me some advise. She said they were not trying to sell anything. As I didn't have to be logged on to the net I followed her directions, which took me through to computer management and then event viewer, at which stage she passed me over to her senior technical advisor. He asked me to delete the error messages. I told him I didn't have user account control,and that he would have to wait for the owner to return. He asked when he could call back, but became very ratty when I didn't give him a specific time. He then hung up.
   My son who works in the I.T. Industry tells me that there are many organised gangs who operate hacking scams initiated by phone calls. I'd say just tell them you're not interested and put the phone down.
