I have just received a call, a person, with an Asian accent, telling me that they were calling on behalf of my internet provider! (I received a similar call last week too, but told them I was having dinner).
Apparently, 'they' have noticed that my internet is not working to it's full potential. That I have several files that are unused and causing the delay!
I was asked to go onto the internet and link up to something that he would direct me on. I could take my time, as he would wait for me to do so!
Once I had done this, I would apparently have full speed internet and would not receive any further 'pop-up's' etc.
I asked for a number that I could ring to confirm their identity and was given 020 8199 3974.I said that I would check that they were working on behalf of my internet provider, as I thought it was rather strange, that they didn't just fix the 'problem' if they were aware of it!
Having just spoken to my internet provider, they have confirmed that the calls had NOTHING to do with them. that I should ignore then and definitely do anything they tell me to!
When I checked 1471, there was 'no number to call back'!
