They are so stupid, they kept calling back and now believe that I earn £200 per year, don't have electricity, never donate to charity and wash my clothes in a tub in the garden
Melanie replied 12/10/14, 1:53 PMI think they have been commissioned (by TalkTalk?) to conduct "market research" for which they would be paid per picked up call, so leaving the phone in a drawer will not change their behaviour and costs you an engaged line (missed wanted calls) and does not stop them calling again.
We need to find out who they are "working" for. -

Everyday, for the past five days this number has called, usually with no one at the other end and after I say hello several times the line goes dead. Today it was an Indian sounding man claiming to be from "Perfect Preferences", and assuring me it was "not a sales call". He then asked me my post code, which I gave him as RG22 6SE (not my real post code) after twelve attempts to give him my post code, which he couldn't understand I gave up and hung up.
I *know* what this company are about, they are a dodgy market research company which record the answers they want, not what you give, and then pass your details on to mainstream companies who unwittingly call you thinking you have asked to be called about their products. -

Well, after a couple of days of peace and quiet from this number.. they've started again, with a VENGEANCE! I have reported them to EVERYONE they can be reported too, and now, im on plan B! FYI if you're on "talktalk" you can set up "last caller barring" which allows you to block up to 10 numbers from ringing you :) and its FREE!! im in the process of setting this up now, and hopefully it will stop all this nonsense! These mugs keep calling my grandmothers house, so have them the wrong address and then I kept questioning who they are, and why they are calling. Obviously got nowhere so told them I was a career criminal who lives in a hostel and has too many kids to count, to being Steve jobs and that I'm still alive. I really feel for those that are retired, these people are aggressive and have no shame. My grandmother gets at least 3 calls a day from this mob. I agree with many of the posts, something needs to be done as TPS doesn't work as they are offshore call centres.

I get a call from Perfect Preferences every evening at 6.30pm. I am actually having some fun coming up new put down lines before they hang up -"No I am not Mr X I am Father Christmas -have you been a good boy ?"

Been getting calls from this ''company'' for weeks now at all times of the day and night. Always the same Asian sounding man who calls himself Micheal, or when he rings you again 30 minutes later is now Peter.
Its an Indian marketing company who want you to say Yes or No to specific questions only. They then sell on the info to unsuspecting Genuine companies, who then call you thinking you've made enquiries about their products.If you try and go "offscript" with them and"say "sometimes" or "maybe", your told to "stop being smart arse and answer questions"
On many occasions they will "silent call"
This may be because they are multi dialling many numbers at a time and will only speak when they actually get a voice that they can pester.
I challenged the guy the other day, and guess what it's not Michael calling me now, its one of his co conspirators, an Indian lady who is resorting to pleading with you to complete her short "survey"
Only one answer - either leave your phone off the hook and go and watch telly, as its them who are paying for the calls from India.
Or - put the phone down immediately and don't engage with them.

Perfect Preferences have been harassing my husband and I for the last year and refuse to stop calling.
The caller Jason said this morning the only way he would stop calling was if I answered his questions. I told him I would not be answering his questions and put the phone down. It is time something was done about this company how many more month's do we have to take this harassment. -

This company has been an absolute nuisance and have been calling my house several times a day for the last few months. I live with my parents who are elderly and they are disrupting their routine.They are extremely rude and would wait to see who would pick up the phone and only speak if they were approachable or not before hanging up. I decided to put on a sweet voice to find out exactly what company is calling my house phone, it turns out they have my address and post code from the public data base? I can not even block their calls on my land line despite registering with TPI as their calls shows up as unknown. I want to report them and get their company closed down as this is not on, harassing people several times a day for months and not understanding that we want our number and details deleted off their data base. Unbelievable!!

I have received 5 calls fom perfect preferences between 5.30 & 8.30 pm. I have aadvised that I am registered with TPS, i do not wish to be called aain and to remove my number from their calling list. Their responses varied from putting the phone down on me 'RUDE' to persisting with only wanting 2 minutes of my time and not understanding 'no' I am at the point of having my land line disconnected as these people ae making me life a misery.

So hilarious today. They rang and yet again asked for "Susan" - still haven't worked out how to change that in their system (probably waiting for me to tell them my name - more chance of me flying to the moon by myself). So I said "no-one here called that" (knew it was them because they are the only people that ask for Susan) so he starts with his script (why it never changes I have no idea). I left the phone on (to them) and have just returned it back to the cradle. This was 4 hours (knowing my mobile has been on if anyone needed me) since they rang and their line was open all that time - so obviously they were waiting for a response.... Of course they couldn't hear anything from our house because the phone is in the hall and the door is shut from the lounge into it.

This caller rang at just before 9pm this evening (Aug Bank Holiday Monday) on our landline. Their number came up as we had caller display - couldn't believe we were being cold-called so late in the day. Hung up within seconds of us answering. I called the number back to ask them not to harrass us again and a foreign-sounding recorded voice said my call could not be answered, or something like that.

This bunch of "rude words" (keeping it clean for the website) are a complete and utter pain in the bum! They have rung 18 times today alone asking for "Susan"! There is no-one called "Susan" and the only "Susan" I know is my cousin who has lived abroad since she was 2 (certainly hasn't lived in our house!). When I say "No-one called Susan lives here" they say "Well, you'll do". Erm, no I won't "DO"! The last idiot had a taste of his own medicine! When he said "Can I speak to Susan (surname which is mine)" I said, "What's it regarding, please" and wouldn't do anything else until he finally decided he had had enough of saying "I am not using this for illegal purposes" and "I'm from Perfect Preferences" and put the phone down lol! Well stuff you because the next time I hear Perfect Preferences I'll go out for a drive for 1 hr and leave you talking to an empty house. Oh and the first one today I left chatting away while I walked the dog and came back and had a drink of coffee and they were still rabbiting on when I came back, so I then put the phone down!

This company calls me once a day - EVERY DAY!!! My requests to put me through to speak to supervisor or to take me off their list and NEVER call me again simply gets refused. Today they told me that they NEVER WILL STOP CALLING me unless I answer their questions!! I have told them they just wasting their time.. Very annoying lot!

When I answered, an Indian man asked me how I was! Said he was from Perfect Preferences and told me it wasn't a sales call. Quoted my name, phone number and address and asked me to confirm them. I told him I wouldn't as I didn't know who I was talking to. He asked for two minutes of my time and when I told him 'No' he banged the 'phone down.

Unbelievable!!! After 7 silent calls in 48hrs I managed to finally get a human at the end.. Of an Indian Call Centre. Pertained to call from Berfect Preferences (I asked him to spell it). After explaining how many harassment calls I'd received he replied "if you answer this survey I'll stop ringing you everyday, if you don't I'll keep calling you".. "So let me get this straight, you're telling me you'll harass me until I do it?"... "Yes sir"....
Unbelievable! I then used the TPS line and he changed his tune.. And hung up. How can this be legal!!!! -

been going on for months! 23 calls in one day into the evening. Never anyone on the line! Another six last night, like other contributors, TPS, Ofcom and Action Fraud no help at all! We have an answer phone so don't pick up anymore! If the location is known why can this lot not be stopped? It's driving everyone loopy!

This company calls up to 5 times a day to my landline and mobile. I ignore the mobile but don't have caller ID on my landline. They get angry and swear and always say they will call back at 6am. Surely someone can do something about these calls!!!

I get these calls daily and now hang up as soon as the person on e other end doesn't answer straight away. I've told them countless times to take my x-directory number off their list but to no avail. Never engage with them. Put your phone down straight away.
They have made the mistake of not having the option to kill the line at their end, so the more of us that answer but leave the phone somewhere, the more of their lines we stop them from using.
Maybe will put them out of buisiness.
Finally I got out the Acme Thunderer whistle (from wifes Girls Guiding days) and gave them serious ear ache. The calls have stopped!
