    One day caller claimed to be from lloyds another day from halifax and another day from santander all from the same number told them same story that i never owned their bank but keep asking to confirm few details so told them to bugger off and blocked their number since they keep calling everyday

    Then proceeded to say I had personal banking matter with a bank I don't bank with.

    I had a call from this number and was instantly suspicious. I phone Lloyds (PhoneBank) number to be told that this number belongs to the Lloyds Credit Card Collection department (I had missed a payment due to personal circumstances) and they wanted their money.
    Like most people, I am suspicious of individuals whose language skills are a lot less than mine and have a heavy accent. However, I would ask if these guys are from the collection department before going into a personal/private details.
    I have sorted my problems but caution is advised.

    Calls every day around 8am - luckily I have my phone on mute at this time. Message left says they’re calling from Lloyds Banking Group (Lloyds/Halifax/BoS/MBNA/Sainsbury’s Bank etc.). I’ve never banked with any of these outfits so best guess is scam.

    Asked for me by name. I said I didn't do anything important by phone, and they would have to write to me. Caller then asked which branch of Lloyds I banked at. If the caller was genuinely from Lloyds, they would already know that! So I repeated: you will have to write to me and put the phone down.
