   Like a number of others on this site I got a automated message saying my card has been used and asking me to contact them. Phoned Lloyds Bank using the number on the back of the card. They said that the number is not Lloyds. Why is this number still in use? It has been used for a number of years as posing to be a Lloyds Bank number - why can't it be closed and the owners traced?

   I was very sceptical when I had a text message and then an answer phone message was left with a 3 digit number,
   
   Unfortunately my scepticism got the better of me and I ignored and deleted the text and the answer phone, I am now needing to go into Lloyds bank to remove a block on my account lol,
   
   But I am glad I was sceptical and rang the bank via fraud line number, just I needed the 3 digit number on answer phone message to unblock account
   
   My recommendation to anyone who suspects fraudulent phishing texts or answer phone messages is to note number and details and then ring fraud team of relevant bank to ensure it is genuine before ignoring or deleting messages as I have done

   Purporting to be form Lloyds Bank Fraud. Called my bank and it definitely was not. The bank advised NEVER to give out any bank details at all to any caller!

   Moe and Luke H are scammers!! There is no way this number is genuine. My bank confirmed to me this is a scam!! If moe and Luke H genuinely think this is Lloyds bank then they must have been scammed as it is NOT real therefor no way it can possibly be genuine

   this is a SCAM, txt me, & phoned me, when i called them back i went through to a answer machine that asked for my phone number to make sure it was the right one, when i typed in my number i was put through to someone who claimed my account had been used to make high priced payments, when asked, i gave my long card number only to be told
   "Oh, im afraid we carnt find your account details Mr.*****, can you please tell me your sort code & account number?",
   on which i said
   "no!! i do not know if this is a real call"
   i was then told "thats ok, if i look on the back of my card, i will find the banks 24hr number and ask to speak to the fraud squad, they will check the situation and take it from there if needs be".
   i hung up, phoned the bank up, spoke to them about it and was put through to the frud squad, when i told them all the details, including the fack that it sounded like a call centre in the background & it sounded very real and proffesional, i gave them the number (the one this is about) Lloyds checked it out and said it was NOT anything to do with them, this is not the first time this number has cropped up and it sounds like very proffessional fraudsters in a good number if it sounded like a call centre.
   my card has been stopped, its been flagged just in case anyone trys to use it within 30 days & ive had a new one sent out to me.
   The REAL Fraud Squad is now seriously looking into this.
   
   Remember...if YOUR bank that holds YOUR account dont have your MOBILE NUMBER there is NO way they can txt OR phone you, if they do, PHONE your bank up and check!!!
