Calls from 01590479438 are associated with EE Impersonation Scam - Expert Opinion
This number, +441590479438, is highly suspicious, with multiple reports indicating it's engaged in a 'phishing' or 'impersonation scam'. Callers falsely claim to be from a legitimate telecommunications company (specifically EE) offering substantial discounts. Their primary aim appears to be the harvesting of personal data, such as email addresses, under the guise of 'security confirmation' or 'feedback'. There are also concerns about voice sample collection, which could be used for fraudulent purposes. The mention of an overseas call center ('Lymington in Mumbai') is typical of such large-scale scam operations. This type of scam is designed to trick individuals into divulging sensitive information that can lead to identity theft or financial loss, classifying it as a 'cost trap'.
