Scam will have let them in to your computer through anydesk site(Software which allows remote access to you computer) will show Kernel Dump files saying their hackers access your computer and they will stop them. Then they will put a SAM Lock on your system and have you restart computer which will lock you out on restart with a System lock password, they used 123 as pass code but will try to hold you ransom for $199.00 for a year of protection. If you see them lunch a window which read SAM Lock close window and shut down or disconnect from internet access they are trying to lock you computer until you Pay and don't fall for you decktop icons disappearing the just hid them with a right click option. if you computer is locked you just need to restart with a widows system disk which blows out the codes.

I'm an IT Sec pro and got this same call today. Complete scam. First off, didn't id himself or his company (or ask for me by name). Next, launched into standard social engineering tactics. Ignored all realities of how Internet even works (you can't track people as easily as you see on TV) and- got my OS wrong. Scam, scam, scam.

After 5 calls, they finally picked up and said they were from CA--um, I will guarantee he was not from CA. Def. from the middle east. Wanted to "access" my computer to help me from being hacked--yeah right.
