A man called, I could barely understand his accent. Asked him to repeat and he started laughing. Trying to force PPI claim down my neck and I insisted I was not interested. He continued to repeat himself. Next time I will ignore or hang up immediately.

I got several calls a day from this number whilst abroad. Didn't answer as I didn't recognize the number and is there was an emergency from some sort they would have left a voice mail. Just googled the number and here I am, seems I'm not the only one getting these annoying calls. Hope they stop one day as i will never answer.

This number has tried to call me several times over the past couple of weeks. No voice mail left, just a text to say I have missed a call. I tried to call the number back as have been waiting to find out about a job I applied for. When I called the number nothing happens, no dialling tone, just disconnects straight away :(!!

I left UK one week ago and since then I´ve been finding a missed call every day sometimes 2 per day! I use another mobile while I´m abroad and UK one just leave at home. So, I´ve never had a chance to pick up. I´m glad I searched for this number first and got here. Thanks!

I got a call from 01189006500 today. Since it was missed called while I was abroad I was about to call them back as I was expecting a call from unknown number. Just in case looked into this page and here we are. Thanks a lot for all who provided info. Must be painful for such companies to know that they are blacklisted here. Thanks again to all.

I believe they're trying to find numbers which are "live" so they can sell them on to telemarketers and other unscrupulous types. Grotty little businesses.
The best way of doing that is calling and then seeing which phones get answered. If a phone is answered then it must be "live" so they hang up and that number is sold on to a 3rd party.
Then if you own the number and you answered you get even more nuisance calls. -

Got a call from this number through TU Go app at precisely the same time as a call from a PPI company through my phone (which I didn't answer either) from 01792 211847 a PPI number. Are they linked?
Jon replied 4/15/13, 5:05 PMI think they must be, I've just had exactly the same thing happen. Am blocking both numbers and contacting http://www.tpsonline.org.uk to report them. Fed up with nuisance calls! -

This number only calls me when I'm abroad ( at inconvenient times) and barely rings a couple of times. assume it wants me to call back at a high price. I've also had calls from 0118 900 5596

Got a call from this number today with a pre-recorded PPI claims message. It cost me 1.50 pounds in roaming fees to accept the call though I ended the call after 3 seconds. I lose about 10 pounds every month due to such nuisance calls. Enough is enough! I have filled complaint forms, but the authorities seem to be unwilling to take any action.
