I think the answer here is that when and if you answer thee calls you advise them that your time is precious, therefore the next time they phone you will invoice for the time wasted. i have done this with one and lo and behold that company has not phoned me again. there is also a case recently where someone managed to take one of these companies through the small claims court after invoicing them for heir time. Give it a go.

Telecommunications today is a damn nuisance. Nothing but harrassing phonecalls. I look forward to the day we return to Indian smoke signals, then if the wind is blowing in the wrong direction, the nuisance caller gets smoke in their eyes. Yep, I too received 01196723345 phone number on my mobile...but naturally, I ignored it. I'd like to sue Vodaphone for selling my phone number to these irritable bowel sin-drones.

I suspect that they are randomly dialling mobile number to sell onto say PPI/claim co's. they know its a real number because it rings, but probably cant sell it on till you have answered the phone. Just a stab in the dark

We never just answer the phone anymore, always letting it go to answer machine before deciding whether to pick up. It is a pain for friends and relatives having to listen to me droning on about nuisance calls but sadly that is what we have had to resort to. It beats talking to telemarkers asking how I am today. If I get caught out and answer I try to wrong foot them by asking them to repeat who they are then quickly asking them how they are today before telling them no I am not interested in saving money at all,thank you goodbye.

This number calls my phone and my 10 year old daughter's phone, which makes me wonder where they get the numbers as only myself and my wife have her number. Deffinately just auto dialling every combination of valid dialing codes. Nuicance!

Have been called everyday by this number for over 2 weeks now.
My mobile wont block it - so I have saved the number in Contacts under the name REJECT.

I tried calling this number but it tells me I've dialled the wrong number even though I just redialled THIS number!!!!

My daughter has my old phone with an unregistered sim card in (she only uses the phone as an ipod for music) and yet still she is getting calls everyday from this number. Why do they bother? Do they really think that anyone would use any service they have to offer when they intrude on people like this. This is harassment.

I've had 2 missed calls from this number (I didn't hear my phone ring either time). After the first call I received the following text:
"You missed a call from me at 14:20 05 Nov. This is a free Call Alert from O2. To disable this dial 901, press *, then option 4 and option 5."
However, all that does is stop you being notified after a missed call, so I think the text was auto-generated by O2, rather than coming from the company who called.
www.area-codes.org.uk has advised that numbers beginning with 0119 and 01192 are invalid numbers from callers trying to hide their identity. They are most likely scammers and I have now blacklisted the number on my phone. these idiots have been calling my number for months they seem to search online for numbers (in my case ebay where I purchased my easy to remember number) they then add your number to there marketing list, I've registered my number on the TPS but they still keep calling and pressing 9 to opt out never works! so I figured it was time for a little pay back and did some digging.
this number is a ppi auto dialler and thanks to a rather helpful call centre I've traced it back to a company called "expressleads.co.uk" there is no info on there site but I managed to find out via who is lookup the domain is registered to a company called "MULTI DIAL" there uk company is MULTI DIAL (UK) LIMITED and here is there address and phone number :)

These telemarketers buy up lists of peoples mobile phone no.s from unscrupulous web sites that you submitted it to in good faith then feed them into an autodialler.
I get them on mobile as unknown caller most of the time - but also on landline (which is unlisted.. argh).
Registered with TPS but that's made f*** all difference! :-(
