Had a robotic voice message left on my answering machine today 22nd Nov 2017, claiming to be Officer Lisa Williams from HM Revenue & Custom with a threatening message. The recorded message says - "This is to inform you that there is a serious lawsuit filled against your name. The issue at hand is very time sensitive. The very second you receive this message I need you to return the call as soon as possible on my department number. And oh my department extention number is 2039361877. If I don't receive your call, you will have to face hard and unwanted legal consequence. To avoid all legal consequences call me as soon as possible because this is your last chance for the resolvement of this serious case. Again this message is for you. And this is Officer Lisa Williams from HM revenue & Customs. Goodbye and have a blessed day."
Upon hearing this message, I was puzzled about it. HM Revenue & Customs always communicate in letter form or through my/our online site. I started to get suspicious when I verified all the HMRC's contact numbers and the caller's number were not the same. So I searched further online about this so-called Officer Lisa Williams of HM Revenue & Customs. This caller is a scammer. She's also done this to others using different phone numbers - 0203807451;01212840625;02080770935;02031296057;02031298297, with the same contents of messages left on answering machine.
If you receive a message from this person report it straight away to prevent inconvenience to others.
