I have had two calls from this number today - one on my landline and one on my mobile. Both times the woman on the end of the phone asked to speak to my son. She refused to tell me what the call was about or where she was from and hung up on me when I started questioning. I tried calling the number back but all you get is an automated message saying "one of our agents tried calling you and will call back." There is no detail given about the company and I can't seem to find anything online other than a couple of other people with similar complaints to mine, who cannot trace the company concerned. My guess is they are something to do with compensation claims for accidents as we have been inundated with these calls from different companies over the last few weeks in connection with a car accident my son had over 18 months ago (which was resolved at the time!).
In frustration I contacted the TPS today who our number is registered with, but other than filing a complaint for each individual caller there is nothing they can do. Just last week alone we had 25 unsolicited phone calls on our landline - all from different numbers. If I got all the details the TPS required and reported each one I would be here all week!
These companies are supposed to check the TPS first but it's obvious they don't. Unless some government department really toughens up on them and dishes out severe penalities for all these nuisance calls they make they will just carry on doing it and getting away with it.
