Keeps calling our business line claiming to be Bristish Gas, when i try tell them we are not with British Gas they try to tell me we are and that our electricity bill is ready for renewal, I always ask them to send a letter in the post to which they tell me they cant and try to put me through to there 'manager'

they called my company, on our recorded lines claiming to be British Gas and there was an issue with my account,, when called the 0121 number provided , a lady answered claiming to be in the leicester spinny side office and she worked in the direct debit dept and I had to make a payment on my account to avoid bailiffs being sent out or my connection cut off ,, British gas DO NOT HAVE a direct debit department ,British Gas DO NOT operate like this..... , they have collections and customer accounts,, Be very careful as this is a scam and a very good scam too.

The call came from 0333 202 9434 but the message said to call British Gas urgently on 0121 6290765. These are the pit bulls that British Gas set on business customers who's gas bills aren't paid within a week. It's not a scam but they are very annoying, persistent and a bit clueless.

Spoke to BG, and they have confirmed that THIS IS A SCAM, as they would never contact customers in such a manner. -

this is a scam number who had already called my home 3 times on different days! nearly got caught out when lady on the phone said its about previous invoice sent to them that was in question as looking for that family member. lady managed to tell me the name of the family member and the business name so ended up giving out telephone to her. but family called up real british gas and they said its a scam. usually i put phone down to sales and marketing and i almost did to this scam caller until she managed to spit out real personal information that she kept me on the line to get a business number. she didnt get more information than she already seemed to know just an extra phone number. becareful!

A polite sounding man just called our office stating he's from British Gas Business and asked speak with accounts payable about an outstanding bill. I said "they aren't available but I can take a message for them. What property is it in connection with?". He gave me this number 01216290765 to call back then suddenly paused and said "Oh it's okay I've just seen on the system that it's all paid" Very strange!!

WHY reported number 01216290765 as WHY
BE VERY CAREFUL REGARDING THIS PHONE CALL. THEY REQUESTED A UNPAID BILL (BRITISH GAS) WHICH THEY SAID" RETURNED DIRECT DEBIT". THEY ASK FOR A DEBIT CARD PAYMENT IMMEDIATELY TO RECTIFY ACCOUNT. ......NEARLY CAUGHT ME OUT. STRANGE MY BANK BALANCE NEVER IN RED!!!! ADVICE--Hang up and investigate situation before giving out card details
