got a call from this number, I had been looking for jobs lately so I was open to calls from numbers I didn't know. They said "Hello is this ___ __" and said my first and last name, so I just said yes and they hung up. I'm really scared about identity theft or something like that? what do I do.

DO NOT GIVE THESE *ANKERS YOUR NAME OR EVEN CONFIRM IT IS YOUR NUMBER!
They will try to get you to confirm your name, and when you request who they are and why they are continually F*CKING calling you, they will pretend that you have to confirm your details first!

I HID MY NUMBER AND CALLED THEM BACK AND WHEN I WOULDN'T CONFIRM MY NAME THEY RUDELY HUNG UP IMMEDIATELY!

Just got a call from this number as well and he said that I was owed money for a loan before 2011 or money from car finance. My car isn't on finance and I hadn't taken out a loan before 2011. Obviously a scam but what worries me is that he knew my name?

They knew my name but I refused to acknowledge that I was who they were looking for and the girl who sounded common hung up! Who calls at 19.14pm? If your ringing my personal mobile you should say who you are! I have never had a load so PPI is nothing to do with me!

Missed a call from 0121 647 2889 today on my mobile. I rang back and the guy who answered said Reactive can I help. I explained that I had a missed call. he asked if it was to the number I was calling on. I confirmed it was. he said that they had no record of my number and it must have been an error. When I asked what the company did he became very evasive and said it did not matter as the call was in error. I asked again what the company did and he hung up on me. Don't trust this number. Now blocking it on my phone

I've only been getting these calls since i posted my c.v on a couple of job sites so must be getting my phone number from their

But I think we may have put my phone number down as a contact number for him on a couple of job websites! I was pretty confused and asked who was calling but I'm pretty sure he used the word "media" in the company name! -

Dodgy call with bad pronounciation person reading a script about me and some refound in 2011. I could hear the buzz in the back of the other people doing the same.
After telling the perosn that i didn't understand what was she talking about due her accent, she basically asked if i had made a loan in 2011 , i said no, she hung up. -

I got a call from this number and they asked for someone else!! they didn't even know who they were calling. It's really irritating and when I said I wasn't that person they hung up. No sorry for bothering you. I think about changing my mobile number but I'm sure they'll just find my new one!!

Very strange call from some random company. Knew my name and obviously my number, asking me about loans Ive had in the past and saying I've payed to much! Gonna help me out by giving me money?? That's when you know they were talking out their arses lol.. For obvious reasons I hanged up.

I have just had a call from this number, I answered, purely because I am expecting to be called from a number that I do not yet know - guess what? no one on the other end! said "hello" several times, just in case, in the end, I put my phone on speaker, and left the line open - let them run up their phone bill! After 2 minutes they hung up! At least I have the satisfaction of knowing I have wasted something of theirs!! :-)

Had a missed call so phoned back from landline. Guy answers and I give him my name and state I had a missed call, he asks was it to the number I'm phoning from and I say 'no, my mobile', he then asks for my mobile number- I ask him what he is phoning about and he says 'a refund', I then ask him what refund, and he says 'I cannot give you that information until I take your details' so I tell him I will phone back from my mobile later and I hung up. Bogus PPI scam I think - I have never had a loan!

Usual PPI scam, started off announcing his name (probably false) and his company (did not take it in). Explained that I was owe a refund of PPI and that the call was recorded for security purposes. Then asked me to confirm my date of birth and post code, I refused and he hung up straight away.
