Got 1st call from a girl who could barely speak for giggling, stating it was regarding an EDC and it was part of Government researh? Shortly aftet I got a call from a guy saying he is a supervisor at pennycuik and i just spoke with one of his colleagues?! How can they work for Pennycuik and a Government initiative at the same time, Pennycuik is a private company!

Usual scam calls from yet another double glazing sales team - they're looking to advise you that you can get a free EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) through them to assess your home for Solar PV (Photovoltaic) panels. Your home needs to be a band D or above to qualify for the Feed In Tariff (FIT) rates from the government which pay you for generating electricity. I run a renewables company and as such could tell them more about the scheme and requirements than they knew! The idea is that they pull you in with a free survey (which many places can offer with no obligation!!) then charge you for fitting all the steps necessary to bring your home up to band D, such as double glazing, wall insulation etc. Following that they will give you pricing for a solar PV system...
