Said hello twice. Had to ask whom was calling. Platinum Protect was the firm they claim to be with. Not sure the guy's name, but had an Indian accent.

I simply said I was on the TPS and they hung up. It's illegal to cold call anyone on the TPS, and they know they are flouting the law. Contact trading standards and ofcom to complain!

Like many of these companies, because people have started ignoring 'with held' or 'unknown' calls, they ring from a legitimate number. Poor quality of staff, obviously bored and cycling through lists because I answered and the girl wasn't ready and was caught in the middle of a conversation with a colleague. A good tactic for a number you don't recognise is to pick up the call and not say anything, just listen for a moment to note the ambient noise,(telemarketers are often noisy, crowded floors with poor quality ip phone connections). Having taken that in, and quite likely not had a squeak out of the telemarketer, a sharp "yes!" will throw them into a fluster, followed by your own selection of suggestions/observations before hanging up.

The way the salesman called to say he was from the a public service. Quite aggressive and then i just cut him off...was trying to sell life insurance!

Got a phone call from this number (01267 244804). I picked up because it looks like a landline number. Said hello twice no reply then they hung up. Apparently people in this forum has identified the number as insurance.
I never phone them back, it might be a scam that will cost a fortune when we ring back.

Twice they have called my mobile (which should not be available on any public source and is on the TPS), twice I have answered and the call has hung up immediately.

Called back the first time to verify. Some FSA regulated nonsense.

They have rang me three times now. First time, their rep said, "just ringing cos you have come up for renewal with the Legal & General (who we are not insured with anyway and which I pointed out) so he said he was ringing to offer me a special offer buildings/contents insurance and i said fine, they can ring me back in January 2014 when it's up for renewal. Have had them back since last month and today. They don't seem able to note on my telephone number that I am happy for them to call me back in January 2014 but I won't be now cos just worked out how to reject them on my mobile phone. I did, after my second call from them, ask to speak to their Manager and he called me back and still tried flogging me insurance so they are not listening to what they could have had from me, they can bog off.

This number rings me night and day at all hours! have had about 30 missed calls from them over last few months, they never leave a msg. I answered once and they aggresively tried to sell me insurance. LEAVE ME ALONE!!!
