    This call from 01269 849 064 called me around 5.30 pm. I did not answer the call as i did not recognise the number and the caller left no id or contact information and gave no reason for the call. Warning to those who recieve similar contacts from this particular number. Do not answer the call. I have checked out this number recently on the Tellows Website and they have identified that the number is coming from the AMMANFORD area and may well be linked to online users who purchase their shopping from Tescos Online. It has been suggested that this caller is a Windows operating user who may be hacking into systems like Tescos Online services and then calling people soon after detecting users online. Does this mean that our computers compromised... Possibly? Some type of backdoor software stored on the Tesco website...? Not sure really. But there is a Tesco supermarket near to where the nuisance caller is coming from in AMMANFORD. So it could be that someone working there is linked to the scammers? If they call again tell them you will be calling the POLICE and contact your telephone company to ask for your telephone to be monitored for calls of this nature.

    As I have said before this appears to be an access number that lots of different people use. It could be someone in the Ammanford area making it available to them for a fee (though this is doubtful) or it's a number chosen more or less at random that they are able to run as a CLI for Uk bound calls.

    The problem is that it is not an offence of any kind to phone someone up and talk to them, no matter what they say unless it causes offence. Nuisance calls (IIRC) are only counted if they call you more than a certain number of times a day or before 7am or after 9pm. Asking you to check something on your computer does not constitute a criminal offence! It's what happens afterwards which is the criminal act.

    They're not even regulated under the TPS because they are not sales calls and they originate outside the UK.
