Caller spoke in foreign language, took for attempts before he spoke in English then said it was Alex calling from BT Openreach about my internet connection.

This is a scam call phone number posing as BT Openreach. They will instruct you to provide remote access of your computer to them where they will proceed to steal your personal information including your bank details and card details. They may also install malware on your computer so they can continually extract private information.
