    Supposedly from BT - names given as Olivia Parker and Daniel Martin - both very British, but both people had a strong Asian accent. Wanted me to go on my computer as my IP address was apparently sending scam emails!

    Sue There was an item on the news a few years ago where asian people who are introducing themselves with English names

    There was a decision made that any Asians doing this would be fined

    I cant believe they are still doing this

    If I were you Id set up a phone blocker system with your network provider . I have done so when someone rings my network provider interrupts with an auto voice asking them to ID themselves & I get a response choice where to accept him or not

    thankfully theve stopped doing this

    They wont stop it seems until they have scammed someone else.

    Call from Asian sounding woman, said she was from BT and my internet connection would be shut down in an hour for 10 days. I asked why that was, she said it was due to numerous faults being sent to BT from my router. As I was asking my next question, she rang off, and I was very pleasent and did not swear. I wonder if she had realised I was on Virgin cable? This is a scam.

    GOD KNOWS HOW THEY GET HOLD OF OUR INFO FROM! MAYBE THERES A CALL CENTRE WHERE ITS WORKERS ARE ASIAN- A CALL CENTRE WHERE THE JOB ROLE IS CONTACT UNSUSPECTNG CUSTOMERS & SCAM THEM BY PURPORTING TO BE FROM.BT ( OR AN OTHER COMPANY + (OTHER DUTIES INCLUDE ENSURE THE PHONE NO IS A ONE WAY NO ONLY TO STOP THEM PHONING BACK+ ILLEGALLY CONTACT THEM ( LOL)

    Received call from busy overseas call centre claiming to be BT. When I pointed out that yesterdays call was reported as a fraud to the police she hung up.
    Yesterdays call exactly same script but from 01724956685
    they are hacking into or falsely generating a UK number. It is the role of BT to put a stop to this nonsense?

ID FIND OUT IF I WERE YOU.IM WITH ANOTHER SERVER & IVE NOT HAD ANY OF THOSE CALLS THANK GOD

    IT DEPENDS ON YOUR NETWORK PROVIDER-EVERY WAY IS DIFFERENT -I D SPEAK TO THEM ABOUT HOW IT WORKS SO YOU WOULD KNOW WHAT TO DO I DONT THINK ITS A GENERIC SYSTEM

    As usual, my answering machine takes any call, and automatically dials 0171 to record the caller's number if available.
    Repeated calls from 0139852762 with no message left. I don't care, I don't have to answer, and it must cost whoever it is!

    Asian accented woman telling me that my BT Wifi had been hacked - couldn't give me my account number or type of broadband account. Told me I would be disconnected unless she helped me so I put phone down

    an asian bloke calling himself Harry phones my landline -he was just about to mention something about my broadband but I cut him off & put the phone down

    i can only think it to be a scam/fraudulent etc or people phoning to see if you are in with a view to burgle.
