Why do they not pick up the phone when calling back?

Not just this number but others are calling my Skype number twice each day around 3... I answer the phone and it goes dead... Then I try calling back... nothing.
I left the country years ago so no idea who, what or where these people are from.

It's CRS...I've had ongoing issues with a contract which expired (Car insurance) and they said it continued which isn't the case.(haven't signed anything for it to continue in the first instance) I'm seeing them in court! They're debt collectors on behalf of other companies.
They're only doing their job, but unfortunately the company claiming I owe them money lied. Other than that, they're very approachable.

They phone two or three times a day, this has been going on everyday for 3 weeks now!! Claim to be from Halifax yet when I rang Halifax after this number cut you off within a few seconds of calling there was no problem with my account. They don't seem to get it even if you tell them not to ring

Caller had foreign accent, i.e., not good English. Said she was from Lloyds bank asking for person not known at my address. This is not first such call.
When I asked them to tell their customer to give them the correct number she asked for mine then she could delete it. She said this several times. I REFUSED TO GIVE IT. Obviously a sham scam.
DO NOT GIVE ANY INFO TO THIS CALLER!
