Received a call from this number, the call dropped immediately I answered the phone.
I called the number and a recorded message told me "You have been called to by Respondez".
SO THIS IS THE SCAM.
If you have been called in the same way it is because you are on a list bought by, run by or worked against by a room full of callers operated by "Respondez".
They have a client paying them to make calls - whether or not to sell products is doubtful as they don't pitch.
They clearly don't want to sell you anything or they'd pitch.
My guess is you pay an extortionate rate to ring their number OR they get paid just to confirm someone is at the end of the line - in other words it's an active line.
Well done Respondez Ltd - what an outstanding socially responsible business you are.

Called me and they put the phone down immediately I answered.
I would suspect they want me to call them on an expensive call rate OR they are being paid by a client to make calls and consider the fact they got through compliance with their obligations to that client. -

They are calling, "On behalf of one of their clients", so telemarketing. I think it could be PPI advertising as I recently filled in a form online (although I did click to not receive any marketing calls).
When I phoned the number back, there was an option to enter your number to then remove the information from their database. I did so. Within 24 hours it will be removed, according to them.. here's hoping!jowie replied 11/8/12, 4:14 PMDid it work? -

This number calls at similar time each week and almost immediately the connection is opened, closes the call.
This is very very annoying and I have trust issues with it. Would not recommend anyone to ring them back...jowie replied 11/8/12, 4:07 PMYou should rate this number higher than a 1.
