Called me to say they were conducting survey. Asked them how they got my EX Directory Telephone preference number. Told me they randomly dialed numbers in my local area code. Told them politely where to go as maybe I don't want to be disturbed!!

Caller said he called the wrong number but did not seem to be surprised, rather like he knew he would say that. My suspicion is that he is checking if telephone numbers are in use.

put the phone down when I answered. I was disturbed by this as I was in the middle of several things all of which I had to stop to answer the phone just to have the phone put down on me - TPS should also be for surveys, it is surely obvious if we don't want cold callers about double glazing etc. we also do not want to take part in cold calling re surveys.

Called me today on the work phone saying that they are doing a survey on the tour de France grand depart and sales. Then went on to ask for my annual sales reports.... yer right as if I would pass over the sales reports to a complete stranger on the other side of a phone don't make me laugh!

I received a call this morning from this number, purporting to be carrying out a survey for TfL (Transport for London) regarding the Tube strikes last week and how we were affected by them. When told that I work for TfL, they hung up immediately.
