Apart from my loud "Hello" I said nothing, knowing this was another stupid attempt being made by criminals pretending to be from Talk Talk but in fact wanting me to allow them to infect my computer. There were four such attempts yesterday, all from different invented telephone numbers. The crooks know my name because this information was leaked by Talk Talk about three years ago - even though its chief executive denied it. Because of my silence the male caller quickly rang off. Before I had finished writing this there was ANOTHER fake call, this time from a man saying it was about my television. I exclaimed, "What on earth do you want to know about my television?" Then he rang off, just as well. I do not have a television set.
