    New my name, my address. Calling on behalf of my bank (didn't guess my banks name). I would be receiving a refund of charges check. When I received it would I go down to the bank and cash it. Presume the scam was based around me withdrawing cash on the value of the cheque, someone was probably going to give a reason for me to give them some of the cash back to someone, bounce the cheque scam done. Told him I couldn't get to the bank, why? "Got no legs" "Can someone else go for you" "No, I'd have to wait for my carer" He realised I was winding him up so he gave up. Problem is they need stopping as the prey on old & vulnerable people. Couldn't work the logic of this scam. The call would have been made from anywhere in the world as the scam includes presenting a UK geographical number to add to the confidence trickster.

    Called one of our NHW members, reported to be calling on behalf of the Government regarding bank charges. Same number last week claimed to be calling on behalf of 'The Justice of The Peace'

    She said from ministry of justice and said bank had over charged me. they had an address pre-2010 and asked for my DOB to validate it.
    I made up a fake one and she said it was correct haha.
    The finance team will ring me back. More duff info to give them I reckon.

    A man with an Asian accent called, said his name was Sean Williams, and that I'd been overcharged by my bank but that they were sending me a cheque to cover that. I thanked him, said a cheque would be nice and hung up.... He knew my address so wonder how much I'll get (I know it's rubbish by the way and don't expect anything)

    I have had 3 phone calls from this number in 3 consecutive days. When I have given my name: "Dave, here", the caller has cut off the phone. Was s/he hoping to speak with someone else in the household? My tel no is ex-directory and I have tried to block cold calls but they still come on coming.
