I suspect the reason they call and do not answer initially, is the number is being generated by a computer, by answering, it establishes that the phone is a bona fide mobile number, and then the te3lemarketers will then ring you with their sales pitch. Ignore any calls you do not know the number of, check it here or similar sites, then block it.

Kate, claiming to be from Claims Inclusive rang around 1pm asking to speak to my husband about mis sold insurance. The number she called from was 01599214102 and this is a repeat call. We are on tps but this is no deterant to unscrupulous companies. I looked up Claims inclusive and sent them an email with above details and said - It may be that the company is impersonating your own and in that case you should be aware of this. I report unsolicited calls to tps or the information commission depending on whether calls are recorded messages or person to person; I will do so in this case unless I am informed otherwise.
Surprisingly I got a reply from the company:
Thank you for your email. At Claims Inclusive we take matters such as this very seriously, and I would be glad to be of assistance.
We do match our numbers against the TPS weekly, however the TPS prevents against unsolicited calls. A call becomes ‘solicited’ if the individual has given permission to be contacted. What I would like to do it ask you for your telephone number. What I would then be able to do is search to see if the number was called, and if it was then we would suppress the information held on our systems in order to prevent any further calls – and I would like to provide you with the company who originally attained your husband’s permission for us to contact him, as they should be able to explain how this was sourced.
As we deal with different number sourcing companies this will allow me to carry out my own due diligence and assess the quality of data that they provide. We abide by strict codes of practice and rules set out by law, so any opportunity we have to ensure this is maintained is welcome. I appreciate the time you have taken to contact us today.
AND:
Thank you for providing the phone number. I will action everything that I mentioned in my previous email and I will notify you once I have the information, which is likely to be tomorrow morning. I hope that is ok.
Just so that you are aware – we always suppress numbers/details rather than fully remove. This is actually to keep record of the fact that the details were effectively deleted – and would also go onto our “do not call” list which we match any new sets of numbers against to ensure that we don’t call them again.
If we were to fully delete the information it would mean we may accidentally make contact again – but as I mentioned previously the suppression will ensure we never contact you via any means, and we do not sell or otherwise pass on your information to anyone else.
I will provide you with confirmation as well as the source company tomorrow. Many thanks for your patience.

PPI Claim companies are a complete scam anyway. They can take up to 40% of your final pay out. All they do is fill out a form you can find yourself online and then sit and wait to take your money. They are worse than the banks!!

This number has re-started calling me again. Asks this time for Karin, when I suggested she didn't live here yesterday when she called, nor the four times last week, the caller got aggressive.
Apart form confirming a human is on the end of the line, for a later 'scam' I can't quite see the reason for these calls? -

The number came up saying Kyle of Lochalsh the chap then asked for a Mr Wade, told the individual wrong number, then checked if I owned the number I said yes and asked to be removed from the database. The foll then said, "Hear me out and listen to what I have to say" - unbelievable... I then said just remove me but he said again, "Just listen to me!" so I repeated by request 3 or 4 times and hung up

Called two three times a day - mostly afternoons. Decided to pick up and then the guy straight away asked for MR Thompson even if there was no MR Thompson. I told him its wrong number then because there isn't any Thompsons. Then he asked who is that and do I have any credit cards or mortgages or other PPI. Told him that I don't and he hung up.

Have been called by this so called company. Mumbled out a name (with a very strong Asian accent) then stated that I was owed thousands of pounds in repayments from PPI Mis-selling. Have never heard such crap in my life and told him that. I Have also reported this number to the TPS (though that won't do anything....)

My wife recd a call when I was in shower. All about Ppi. BUT they knew our full address, both our names and DOB. How is this possible with DPA supposed to b there to safeguard against this sort of stuff. The only thing they wanted that they didn't have was our bank, which she didn't provide. What are people employed by DP registrar actually doing all day when it's clear that all manner of DPA breaches are happening daily? Rant finished :-)

Calling me daily at least once, i've never bothered answering as yet and won't be now i've found all the info on here. Almost answered it as i work in sales and don't know all of the area codes on my patch but erred on the side of caution and they curiously have never left a message!!

"Claims Inclusive", about reclaiming PPI on bank/insurance/mortgage. A woman who claimed to be called Linda, with a strong foreign accent - and I don't mean Scottish. Asked for my husband & when told he was at work, tried the spiel on me. I pointed out I was registered with TPS and asked for them not to contact us again, and she did apologise. Be nterested to see if they call again.
