I act for a company who unfortunately didn't check this site until it was too late and lost £1800.00. I am interested if anybody else has reported this to the bank as they are claiming it is the first time they have seen this suspected fraud.
Jo Moulson replied 2017-02-21 19:02:56She did exactly the same to our company!!
My email is [email protected] if you wish to discuss furtherRobM replied 2017-09-15 13:42:01Same here - overpayment - refund of overpayment - then their original payment disappears.
Reported to bank, who advised us to also inform the Police. -
We have been contacted by Kate Walker from Carlisle Fluid Technologies Ltd in Ilford. They paid in cheque for £1851.64 and ordered goods for just over a £100, That on its own raised our suspicion, plus they paid it in to bank In Manchester. We are no where near it and wouldn't deliver that far. I checked the company Carlisle Fluid Technologies in Ilford supposedly, but nothing was adding up. Company exist but completely different address. Reported to fraud team at Barclays. Just waiting for lovely Kate Walker (this time) with gmail account email to send me bank details :D so that we can hopefully freeze their account.

Was contacted by Melinda via email using a legitimate company called Clayton Horsnell Ltd who have no connection with her (or him). They ordered materials with us and asked for a Pro-Forma and then tried their usual trick of saying they had overpaid us by around £2000 and could we refund them immediately. On checking with our bank it was found to have been paid in using a fraudulent check in an individual's name and not a company.
Whatever you do avoid dealing with this lot as is a scam. -

Did exactly the same to us, unfortunately we had already refunded the £2500, we have reported this to the banks, fraud team and I have just made Watchdog aware. It amazes me that they don't freeze there bank account, you report it to everyone and nobody wants to know. If anyone wants to discuss please contact [email protected]

Brenda placed an order with is but paid £2000 plus too much and wanted a refund. Advised without proof of payment, I couldn't authorise one. As she wouldn't pick up the phone to me and was getting really rude with my refusal to co -operate, I googled the company and came across this! How glad I am!
-
Received an email from them requesting a quote for some equipment from our shop.
Also alerted by the gmail address and the urgency of the request. Email content didn't read correctly either.
Glad I checked on this site. -

Sellers beware ! -
This is a scam. We have been asked for a quote but having read the comments on here, we won't be bothering. We were alerted by the gmail.com domain and the slightly dodgy English......
-
wish we'd seen these comments before we got caught out!
Gary Taylor replied 2016-08-22 12:34:48I act for a company that was caught by this suspected fraud. Could I ask did you report the matter to a bank and if so which bank? -
We have just been asked for a quote and looked up the address - found this site - we are not going to supply this company now.
-
It is a scam and we did transfer money but stopped order..all the amounts are for just over 2k paid into our account and we transferred just under 2k back into their bank.
you'll see the money go into your account then they're desperate for you to pay the overpaid balance, they then cancel the dodgy cheaque within 2 days...Don't do it, the tel number is bogus and so is the address... -
Had an email & asked to quote this company, sent a proforma invoice then they paid by cheque straight into our account which is strange as this never happens as everone generally pays by bacs. The cheque was for just over 2077.60 which is 3 times amount needed. luckily thanks to other messages here, we have stopped the goods leaving & not refunded the difference, as im sure this check will bounce aswell.

Hi everyone, I had this today from a Brenda Lescort asking for a Proforma invoice, thank you to tellows for confirming my suspicions, the company she said she was from was Creative Chambers, has anyone called the police at all? do they bother to do anything.
-
A Brenda Lescourt, emailed asking for a quote. After sending a Pro Forma, we received an 'overpayment' by around 2k. Immediate alarm bells, when they wanted to give us bank details to pay it back. Advised our bank and found this site!
Cheque bounced a few days later.Gary Taylor replied 2016-08-22 12:38:46I act for a company that was caught by this suspected fraud. Could I ask did you report the matter to a bank and if so which bank? -
placed an order and paid by cheque into our account. Stated they had over paid and demanded a refund for a full week. Bank sent us a copy of a counterfeit cheque.
-
Received an e-mail asking for a quotation. We then received a payment into our bank asn a further e-mail saying they had overpaid and could they have a refund.

It seems to be someone with a long history of scamming (do a Google for Brenda Lescort).
Be warned!Waggers replied 2016-02-25 11:39:39Just figured out the scam here....
They pay a cheque into our account so it shows on our statement as deposited funds. The hope is that we issue a refund before we realise the cheque has bounced.
