Someone named Clive Roberts rang me from this number today 4/11/15 at 11am stating he was calling on behalf of 02. He said he was offering a promotion that 02 were providing. He asked me the usual how much am i paying for my payg per month, i was vague in my answers. He said he could offer me a package of unlimited free calls (to any network), unlimited texts, 2 GB of data for £18 a month (after gauging i spent roughly £20 a month for my credit). He said that there were only terms and conditions to the 'sim only 12 month contract' and that was that i was over 18, was a UK resident and had a bank. This is when i replied saying that after all the news etc about losing bank details and bogus calls wanting bank details i don't like to hand over my bank details on the phone to someone who i don't know. He said that i surely could hear he was in a call centre and that he would send me a text to show where he is calling from and so i could tell it was legit. I got a text through saying 'Here is your code: ******. Please enter this code in the site to continue registering your 02 account. If you did not authorise this, please contact 02.' This is when he started to get quite a blunt tone with me, a friend who was with me was stating how he could possibly get it cheaper due to i could be classed as a business, so Clive said 'So you own a business do you?', i said 'not exactly, I'm going to come off the phone now and discuss with my friend what options he may be able to get for me'... Clive pointed out that my friend would not be able to get me a better deal, and my children could use my phone to reduce further costs. My friends phone rang then, during his discussion with someone else Clive was persistent to get me to ask my friend exactly what package he could get me. I told Clive to call me back at 4pm, he said 'So are you just going to go for this deal or not', i told him his tone was blunt and i could tell he wasn't messing around, he said there was no point in beating around the bush...He also said he couldn't be bogus because he hadn't witheld the number.I asked him to confirm his name being as he hadn't given it me at the beginning of the conversation. Fast forward to 4pm, and i told him I had a discussion with my friend and that i wasn't interested, he was still persistent to find out exactly what my friend could get for me. The weird thing was for me in the interim of these two calls, at 3pm, i received a text saying the same as the other except for a different code that was in the text. Don't get me wrong, it has come up as 02UK, but it just felt strange this time.

Called me and asked a barrage of questions regarding if I am on the right tariff for me (PAYG O2 phone) I replied I was happy with it, and she asked how much a spent a month. When I mentioned she should have details of that if she is from O2 she said that she is not from Customer Services, so I said her call was not of interest and she then launched into something else. I hung up, this bores me. Forty seconds of my life I won't get back. What a rubbish job she has!

Just rang my mobile TWICE now, all I heard was loud shouting in background, I did say hello but no response. They hung up twice on me without saying anything so now I've blocked their number.
Timewasting scammers they can get stuffed! -
Cheshire lass reported Intel with the number +441612776602 as Telemarketer
This is an unregistered PAYG on o2. I have an o2 contract on another number. They are a call centre working on behalf of o2. o2 have given them a list of payg customers and the aim is for them to sell sim only or mobile phone contracts. Agents get paid commission on sales, but the number of calls is harassment. o2 need to stop this behaviour.

Cold call from telemarketing company based in Manchester claiming to be 02 Partner. Told to fxxk xff and not call me again. Also blocked number on phone but my call logs showed they continued to ring me. Pig stupid or what.
Mr Shaw replied 9/19/15, 8:39 AMi believe your pig ignorance is the abuse you gave this young sales operator.
If you gave them the courtesy of speaking to them, you would realise they are attempting to save you money and give you better value and features on the O2 service.
Paranoid numptys like your goodself, still believe the world is flat and Elvis is alive !!Page Read replied 10/8/15, 1:50 PMWith all due respect Mr Shaw, we are also educated people that know how to save money and get things at value. What we haven't got is time to answer the phone to people who we have not instigated a call with. They are pig ignorant to the very fact that they do not realise what their job implies. I wouldn't dream of encroaching on other peoples lives without their prerequisite which would be a common courtesy from their part. We do not have anything to do with the neighbours anymore so why would we want to sit chatting and wasting valuable time. Just leave us all be. We do not want to know. -

Sam reported number 01612776602 as Brian/Behalf of O2
Someone named "Brian" claimed to be ringing on behalf of O2 and kept asking questions about my pay as you go plan. I could barely hear them, sounded like they were standing outside with wind blowing into the phone! And surely they should have known the answers to the questions they were asking, very sketchy!

Ray_of_Light reported unknown with the number +441612776602 as Telemarketer
Calling 02 mobiles, pretenting be T-Mobile, trying to sell "value" to prepay number.
I was put off by the background noise, as it was generated in a call center, but it was repeating the same pattern of noises every 30 sec. Any serious telemarketer would not add fake background noise. Wnen I pointed out that their room was too noisy for a normal conversation, the girl said that the problem was caused by my phone line. Very poor and stupid behavior. I saluted and closed the connection at this moment. Added to the call filter in the phone.

This number has rung my mobile twice in two days. I have not answered but after reading comments on this and other websites, I contacted O2 directly. They confirmed that it IS them and it IS telemarketing, and offered to block my number, which I accepted. He said he had passed my details to telemarketing to stop contacting me but it could take up to 28 working days for the calls to stop. So I will have to wait and see. I hope this helps.
