I have a brand new number from EE bought from poundland and have not even used it or put credit on it yet but I still have recieved a call from this number about a PPI refund. Now either EE is passing these numbers out to whoever or Poundland is doing it. Buyer beware!

Typical ppi call.
But despite trying to be polite and aknowledging he was just doing his job before asking him to remove me from their database, he accused me not knowing what ppi was and insisted I was owed money for a credit card repayment (despite never owning a credit card)
After telling him I was 21 year old student, with no interest, he became aggressive and in his manchurian lingo 'why didn't ya tell me that straight up instead uv going 'round houses, just tell me ya twelve' in which he hung up.
I can accept getting these calls when people are polite and accept you're not interested but I felt harassed after explaining i wasn't interested - he wouldn't let it slide.
Bloody a***hole. -

Call came up on my 14yr olds mobile. I answered. Man said something but I interrupted with " You shouldn't have this number it belongs to my 14yr old" and he replied smugly with "oh it's okay, its registered to your name" like hell is it, I hung up and advised my daughter be careful with her Facebook profile and signing up to anything else. They don't care who they harass.

Sick of these calls another ppi even told them was too young for a loan or credit card or loan so woman went on about mum and dad told me to tell them they could be owed money I just said they ain't stupid neither am I so go away another one added to reject list now my total is 47 numbers that's taking the pee now so angry.

Had a call from them just now. Asked me if I had received my PPI refund, said I never applied for one, and at no point had a credit card, loan, mortgage, or overdraft. Just another auto-dialer based PPI scam.
I can say for certain that my mobile number ended up on a list freely available via Tor, and thats one likely source where companies like this are gathering numbers in bulk from to put on their call lists.

Was called on my mobile from this number, very noisy background. Caller told me they can help with my claim, didn't specify what claim or who with, but as I have none with anybody I asked to be removed from their database. Caller said I was missing out on 'thousands that I'm owed'. Keeps talking over me while I keep repeating I'm not interested and to remove my number, then swears at me and puts the phone down.

What a nasty man! Told me I obviously didn't know I was owed more money until he told me, kept interrupting when I was talking. Told him I deal with PPI matters myself and I do not go through companies, he kept ignoring me so I repeated myself several times over him then he put the phone down! Number now blocked!!

Had a call on my son's new Virgin mobile number. He hasn't given it to anyone, not even his friends yet. The first call he has had was a ppi chase. I asked them how they obtained the number - "on our database" and as soon as I said it was my 12 year old sons number the woman hung up. I know mobile companies reuse number so that may account for it because otherwise it only came from virginmedia.
IKA replied 7/17/15, 5:06 PMWe have only had our new Virgin mobile 3 hours and the first call was from this number. It was an Asian sounding male but he didn't say anything except hello over and over again. It looks like they have access to something they shouldn't. Perhaps Virgin could help investigate this company. -

Recieved this call on my work mobile which was rare. Man saying he was from HYC and all about PPI to which I replied that I've never claimed and that this was a work phone. Had to repeat that a couple of times as he wanted to keep going with his spiel, but then said that I was still at work and want to end the call. Noisy background.

Had a numbers of calls from them asking about the loan I took out recently(never taken a loan out). when i told her i didn't,then asked her to remove my detaisl, she ignored me and she referred to my credit card, never had a credit card either. When i asked where she got my number from, she ignored me again and started banging on about the "banks" owing money to me. i asked her to remove the number again. they are based in manchester. waste of time

Rang me and was silent for a few seconds. Then a male said "I've had a missed called of your number". I said, "on this 0161 number? Not me mate, I never phone anyone", he said "no, on my mobile. What's your name anyway?", I said "What's your name?" He then asked me for my name again, and I asked for his. He muttered something and hung up. Could hear traffic and talking in background. Sounded very very dodgy! Beware!

Called on the work mobile provided by my employer (government agency)- so no idea why they think it would be appropriate to try to sell me PPI recovery on this number! When I told agent I was a government employee and this is my work phone, she still tried to run through her PPI crib-sheet.

phoned on my mobile whilst I was out walking. missed the call so attempted to call back as was worried it might be urgent, unable to get through.. just beeped and cut out. How do these scammers get private mobile numbers?there must be a breach of data protection somewhere,I will vote for the party which promises to clean up the calls from these filthy predators

this number rang my mobile this morning, i answered it, no one said anything so i left it on as i have no money on my phone (so its not costing me anything if it is one of those scams) i would love to know how they get our numbers, mine is on a couple of months old and no one has it, i only use it for taking photos and uploading to facebook

Called whilst I was ib n Hamleys in London (weekend break.) and I thought it was an odd number so I answered and there was nothing on the other end Silent call so I cut off the call. The number shown as a Manchester number but could be from anywhere as I used to use a VoIp as a phone line and know thaylt you can get a number from anywhere.

Girl said they'd been having difficulty awarding my compensation and wanted to ask me security questions for data protection! I asked her who she was calling, she couldn't answer and tried to waffle and thene hung up as soon as she realised I wasn't fooled.

Just received a call from this number. Googling brought me to this page. Can only reiterate what's already been said here. Teenage-sounding girl with a heavy regional accent - sounded like she was phoning from a pub(!) - bleating out a list of banks and insisting that I could be owed money from them (based on records which "go back 25 years"). Told her I really wasn't interested. She refused to get off the phone so I terminated the call.

Just had a phone call about PPI from what sounded like a teenage girl almost. She kept pushing me that I was due an average of £1200 in PPI claims however continued to say "thats like loads of money" and "like 1200" very unprofessional. Not sure how they got my number but don't answer and DO NOT give details about bank etc.
