Same as all the rest. Calling people repeatedly all day. If I did that I'd be in danger of being arrested for harassment. Why is the law different for a business? Someone is responsible for this and the police should hold them to account. Forget some regulator with no power. These people are harassing other people and that is a police matter!

I entered an ASOS competition two days ago and included my mobile number.
It may be unrelated, but 24hrs later I started receiving numerous texts (at least 50 texts since yesterday) from different numbers and 'companies' about loan / financial services.
Many texts refer to me as 'Dilshad' (this is not my name).
I also got a missed call from 01618710849 today.
Aaarrrgggh.
Very annoying but I can't find any way to stop them, other than by blocking each text number from my phone as they are sent to me.Matty replied 6/10/14, 9:02 AMI've had over 60 messages in 3 days from various loans people. The messages are even going off in the early hours of the morning. They all ask for 'Caroline' . Also phoned me several times. When I told them I was call registered , I just got the response 'can i not speak to caroline then ? -

from 7am to 10pm at night im getting calls from this number every 45 minutes! its driving me crazy. i have answered any yet but im glad that its not just me. surely something can be done about these calls. if i was calling someone that much im sure the police would be at my door for harrasment!

I am fed up of getting phone calls from this number. I was driving today and it kept ringing and ringing until my mobile phone battery went dead and I was then unable to make an important phone call to my daughter when I had stopped driving. I am also receiving about 40 text messages during the day and night from loan companies, as well as 10 phone calls a day from other companies claiming they will help me pay off my debts for a one off fee. Oh yeh, AS IF!! One "man" was also very rude to me and I hung up but he kept ringing back from different numbers throughout the day when I was at work. It is making my life unbearable. I keep blocking the texts and callers but they keep coming through from different numbers.

Extremely annoying company. I had 63 messages all in ONE day two days ago & that was just the beginning... They started saying a gentleman called 'Matthew trimmer's' loan had been approved for £400 but it wasn't just one the 63 messages had been from different companies. I tried to text 'stop' to the numbers provided on the bottom (be careful not to text back the number they text you normally there's a OptOutBLAHBLAH with a different number) which ran up my phone bill from £25 to £56. The next day got the same texts again less this time about 46 but then the calls started flocking in. I answer most when I could get a chance and told them I have no idea who Matthew is and they said they'd take me of the system and haven't! Same thing today it's getting beyond a joke. I've even phoned vodaphone and they said they can't do anything it's bloody annoying!

Called my mobile, asked for me by my Christian name, said they were calling with regard my recent enquiries in connection with my bad credit rating. I interrupted her and said I had not made any enquiries with anyone and I didn't know what she was talking about. She asked if I had applied for any loans or filled in any surveys online and I said no. She said she was very sorry and she would revert to her company and have my details removed from their database. Totally fed up with receiving scam calls of this nature on my mobile - something should be done to prevent it and protect us!!

this number called me saying they are from Harrington Brooks Accountants and wanted to help me improve my credit rating after being turned down for a loan application. I know none of this is true but it doesn't stop you worrying, pleased to find all these other comments from people who have had the same thing!

Got a call from this guy telling me how my credit rating was at an all time low (first I knew). I got suspicious when he started asking questions about my credit which he should have known if my credit rating was so bad. I know that my credit is A ok so I told the guy in no uncertain terms where he could stick his help!
People like this are the scum of the earth using scare tactics. I'm quite savvy to marketing techniques but for those who aren't it could cause a lot of distress.
This sort of practice should be made illegal! -

I've been getting alot of texts from loan companies over the last few days, and this number called me and said it was 'harlands' the man asked if i needed help with my credit rating. He refered to me by my nickname and kept asking me to tell him my last name but i refused, he said your birthday is the 20th of august is that right but i told him thats incorrect. The man kept asking for my address and date of birth for data protection but i said you dont know it so why should i tell you. He wouldnt even let me finish a sentence and kept talking over me saying that he basically does know it but i need to confirm it so i hung up the phone because he didn't have a clue.

My husband received more than 30 unsolicited, spam texts over the weekend, purporting to be from 8 different loan companies. All referred to my husband as "Daisy". Yesterday he started getting calls as well, from this number, all through the day: my husband has heart and lung disease and needs to keep reasonably calm. This didn't help. I reported all the texts to the ICO. Last night, the 0161 number rang him again - I rang them back on my phone, put on some fake tears and told them my husband was dead. I do believe that has solved the problem - I felt a tiny bit sorry for the lad on the phone as he was very sweet and apologetic (and I'm a damn good actor!!) but these people are breaking the law and need to be stopped. I suggest everyone pretends to be dead too...............

Applied for 1 loan was declined now have over 30 txt a day offering loans and debt help and this number has called me 7times from 7am - 1pm I answered each time and they asked to speak to jodie which is me I just tell them I think they got the wrong number it's so annoying they phone at least 14 times a day if you don't answer they call you every 30 mins

I answered and spoke to a man claiming to be from a company and said that I had enquired about my credit rating or something of that nature which I had not. I informed him and he tried to maintain the conversation saying that they could help me with other problems even though I had no idea how they had gotten my number or knowledge of the company he claimed to be working with.

This number has rang me none stop for just over two weeks now. I have asked them politely to take me off their system but yet they won't.
They asked for my bank details and I hung up, they rang me yesterday at 7pm while I was trying to get my son to sleep (he watches Peppa pig on my phone) he just tapped the screen and answered and my phone automatically goes on loud speaker he was asking for me and I just ignored him, my son was gurgling back at him and he thought I was talking back to him until he shouted "Peppa pig" then the guy laughed and hung up.
They've not rang me since. -

I've had in the past 6 days around 40 phone calls from this company on all different numbers. I have not once applied for any type of loan online so i have no idea why they keep calling. Have told them on several occasions now to stop calling and that i am not interested and they still won't stop i get about 12 txts a day all asking about money. It is a scam, do not trust these people with your details!

They've rang me at least 12 times a day for the last four days on my business mobile. Claim that I appiled for a pay day loan which I have not. I asked them to stop calling as my clients aren't getting through as they're holding up the line. Numourus texts about pay day loans. INFURIATING buggers won't go away.

Received a call from this number. They claim to be an accountancy firm and said I had contacted them making financial enquires and wanted to take the next step in the process. Told them I have never contacted them before. They were asking about my outstanding debt. Told them I didn't know anything about any debt. They are basically fishing for personal information and hung up when they couldn't get anything out of me.

Called my new mobile number and asked me if my name, i would not give it and asked where he got my number from he gave me my name and asked if it was me he was speaking too. I said who is it that is calling and he kept saying is this (my name)and i kept saying who is it not giving my name or telling him if he had the correct name, eventually i said if you dont tell me who is calling i will hang up, he then repeated is this (my name again)so i hung up. They kept phoning every day for 3 days each time a different person, on the third day a woman said am i speaking to (my name) so i said who is it please to which she replied i am from a finance company i said i have never had finance in my life and before i could ask where she got my number she hung up. They have also used a different number because i recognised one of the voices but on that occasion he said he was from a company that helps you if you have got into debt (more like cause more debt) problems. I looked the name up FRESH START and it was a pay day loan firm. These people need stopping as all they do is prey on the most vulnerable in society and heap even more debt on them and get rich on the back of peoples misery.

They called me on my mobile and used my first name which straight away got my guard up. When I tried to tell them I wasn't interested he became quite aggressive and told me I should listen to him. I gave him a piece of my mind and cut the call off.
