janice replied 2/29/16, 2:27 PMHad a txt message yesterday stating I was going to receive a free O2sim card with £10 credit pre installed and that someone would call me today just had a call from 01619023780 so I checked it out as I missed the call ,and boom your site came up with these comments ,so ,it would appear to be a 02 scam glad I didn't answer it and checked it out before thanks guys -

Since changing from O2 to Tesco (but keeping my old number) I've been receiving calls from this number.
Usually it's one or two a day but has peaked at five recently. They can be anytime from early morning to gone 10 in the evening.
A few times I tried to answer but I'm cut off straight away, so I can't even tell them to stop.
Now got them blocked (but they go straight through to voicemail) and you can hear it's a call centre, but they never actually say anything. -

Ordered a nano sim from o2 and the next day i received a call from this number 01619023780 a guy on the phone asked whether or not i have received my sim and he confirmed my name as well..a few hours later the same number rang twice and i did not pick up.. Dont know wat they want but i recommed you take care and avoid picking up unkown numbers

Ordered a sim from 02 it came yesterday morning and had a call from this number saying they could get a better deal now I had received the sim?? Been on my mind since yesterday, I've put the number on google & found this site, good job I did looking at all the complaints.

they rang me claiming to be O2 and said they could give me a better offer and when it got to the part of asking for my card details i refused and rang O2 and told them, they said they do not have any relation with that number and they will pass it on to their manager

They have called me four times today (it's only 2pm!!!). I eventually yelled down the phone and told them to stop calling me. They called again just now, so I downloaded a call-blocker and put them on the list. Tried calling 02 and find it very suspicious that they have no record of them!

They have tried to call me a number of times, I finally got them on the phone and asked who they were. They said we are 'part of O2 direct but outsourced' to which I responded that sounds a lot like a dealer which they denied for a while until he went off to check and during that time I Googled the number and ended up here. They were trying to upsell me from a PAYG SIM I'd ordered to O2 Simplicity - that was the nature of the call.

Had 2 miss calls from them in 2 days (Haven't bothered to answer the call) - I've had the same type of random pointless calls before and can't be bothered with it again, literally 2 minutes ago had the second of the 2 miss calls, first one my phone was switched off and i got a text from 02 saying i missed their call (Automated not actually 02) - Then today i just let it ring... Putting the number on my block list now.

I don't normally answer numbers I dont know but I did yesterday as i was expecting a call. It was someone trying to sell o2 contracts, it wasn't actually o2 as when i mentioned calling them back he said 'oh no you can't do that, and don't call o2 either as they wont be as cheap', even though they knew i had ordered an o2 sim a few weeks ago.

Received a call from this number 01619023780 as soon as I answered they hung up. First call I have received from them. Thought it was a bit strange and then I thought I'd do my homework on the number.

The phone rings once then it appears that the caller hangs up. This happens several times a day. It is really annoying. I dialled the number and a recording informs me that 02 has tried to contact me. The line then goes dead. There is no opportunity to speak to someone or leave a message.
I have contacted 02 and they state it is not one of their numbers. -
