Annette Butterworth replied 10/8/15, 11:42 PM
Another week, another set of unsolicited PPI phone calls, this time a one-two with first an unsolicited automated call from 0161 939 0225
(note the use of the UK telephone number 0161 939 being used by a overseas company 1st Call Group – a common tactic to sidestep it being illegal in the UK to make telephone calls without prior consent and being on the TPS list.)
Any reputable company that values its customers would take TPS very seriously, which Lepus Marketing is a reputable company. It is their legal obligations to add you to their own Do Not Call list so that you do not receive any further calls, even for South African based cold calling centres.
Not apparently to do follow up, after you told them not to call you ever again. Apparently Lepus Marketing Limited, who also go under the trading name of The PPI Team, has contracted their cold calling services to 1st Call Group based in South Africa for valued over £2,000,000 plus more, which depends how many of us they can convince that we are entitled to a refund in this PPI scam.
Which means the PPI calls would be non stop, and blocking them would be pointless unless you want to block 10,000 plus numbers. 1st Call Group has purchased telephone services from Digital Mail for this cold calling venture and could be making calls from Digital Mail's other telephone numbers which includes 020 7060 and 020 3000 number blocks. Digital Mail also has over 300 telephone codes across the UK apart from the 0161 and 020. So the point made it would be pointless to block them from this point forward. The only way forward to end this cold calling madness is to report Lepus Marketing, Digital Mail, and 1st Call Group on these ridiculous cold calling PPI scam.
1st Call Group is very aggressive cold calling company in South Africa and will take no for an answer, despite they are breaking every UK law possible to convince you you are owed a refund. 1st Call Group is contracted by Lepus Marketing who is the UK firm that would get you refund, despite not being eligible for the refund in the first place.
Given the dodgy nature of the them constantly calling me and I would advise of complaint with the Information Commissioner against Lepus Marketing for hiring a foreign cold calling firm, to avoid getting prosecuted under UK law for making such nuisance calls.

Just deal with the telephone calls from 0161 939 0225, just by blocking and ignoring the calls will no longer work as 1st Call Group will just use different Digital Mail telephone numbers.

It looks like Digital Mail has given their clients a new telephone number 0161 939 7225 to harass us on now, after many decided to block them instead of reporting them. The only way to stop this madness is to report Digital Mail to the ICO and their telephone number is 0303 123 1113. Postal Address for Digital Mail is 6 Osborn Street,London E1 6TD. These cold calling scammers will go around the block by calling you on another 0161 939 Digital Mail number, so blocking them is pointless!!!!

To put it plainly and bluntly these people are a bloody nuisance!
    cthonus replied 9/8/15, 5:43 PM
The point of the scam is to find gullible people who will believe what they say. They are crooks who once they find a victim will ask them for personal details and /or credit card/bank details "So we can proceed with our refund to you" They then commit identity fraud or empty your bank account. Obviously you were the ones they were looking for for them to steal your hard earned money from. This company called Digital Mail Ltd needs to be stopped, can't someone do something about these calls? This company can't do anything, other than claim the calls is not originating from them and what law is to protect us from this idiocy. I get several of these calls every day, the automated calls go on after I put the phone down. I can't dial out, people can't reach me until they put the phone down. It is damaging my business, yet they can keep calling without any sort of penalty? I don't understand why a law can't come in where companies like Digital Mail are barred from spoofing UK landlines to dupe you into thinking these are calling from within our country as mentioned on http://notes.dmclub.net/1094 how to spoof dmClub numbers (this is Digital Mail Ltd brand name) from anywhere in the world on any telephone number. The company directors should be fined and disqualified from operating as a UK Telecoms company, as they are pretending the calls are not coming from them. This company is making such a huge profit at our expenses, the same scammers have been using their telephone numbers for over 3 years now, yet the company has been aware of the problem and does not want to take action and yet get this sorted out as their main priority of having a clean proper telephone network like BT, or I would not cringe every time a 0161 939 number calls my business line.

This is a Manchester number, not London
Jason Finch replied 9/15/15, 3:40 PM
So it is possible for someone located in London to have a 0161 Manchester number that's because of VoIP technology. VoIP is telephone service Digital Mail sells to it's clients, which means you could be anywhere in the United Kingdom or the world without being tied to a geographical location unlike telephone services you get with BT. Digital Mail fails to keep it's telephone numbers clean from scammers and nuisance calls, so I avoid answering any telephone call from that starts with 0161 939 for future references.
    Cpw replied 11/11/15, 3:50 PM
I don't know why people even bother to speak to them - just put the phone down - it's not rocket science!
Jason Finch replied 11/11/15, 4:32 PM
This number always rings my mobile regardless if I answer it or not. These cold callers got my number from a random phone dialler and we can not stop them from calling us, regardless how many times I put the phone down on them. Now their telephone number changes frequently, so there is no real means of blocking them from my mobile. Very often we get nuisance calls like clock work every day and Digital Mail will not do anything to help end this madness from their client. These cold callers have been using their telephone numbers for over two years, Digital Mail's had made a claim is they have nothing to do with these calls, which I find to be a pack of lies.
Ms Angry replied 11/11/15, 6:10 PM
I also have had calls from this number along with some of the numbers were 0161 939 0228, 0161 939 0335, and 0161 939 0442. Having suffered this type of harassment for a long time from this type of harassment from the same cold calling centre in South Africa. I have put the telephone down and block many of these numbers on my landline. After 2 year or more these type of scam calls increased, even though I kept entering the more numbers and even kept a record of them on my computer, which now I have learned to be pointless. Most of these telephone calls I get a claim of money back from my bank in a form of a PPI refund, despite being registered with TPS, which is the most worthless organisation in the whole UK, along with Digital Mail after reading these comments from the regulars here. These cold callers did not know my full name, but claim I am owed money from my bank. Had to ask him, which one and from which bank. This chap told me for security reasons obviously, he could not tell me my post code and other various things. He even had the nerve to ask me for my bank details and sort code to process this bogus PPI refund against my bank, without verifying my identity, which I knew was a scam all along. Which then I put the phone down on him, only for him to just to ring back a few minutes later. I then told this chap to stop calling me, which he told me he will not, so I put the phone down again on him. He then called me back a few seconds later after putting the phone on him for a second time, at this point I stopped answering my telephone, which he continued to ring my number every 5 minutes for a total of 13 times after that. I wish these people would stop harassing us with this PPI scam.
Annette Butterworth replied 11/13/15, 2:49 AM
1st Call Group is trying to cold call on a PPI claim pack contract. All this company is doing is asking you for your name and address so they can send you a form, so they can a cut of your refund as part of their £2 million contract with Lepus Marketing for providing this harassing telephone calling service to us. You could ask them where did they get your phone number from. You can tell them under the Communications Act 2003 they must stop calling you, and if they do this again that this constitutes harassment, but these cold callers do not understand our laws that were suppose to protect us from these types of calls. Most of the cold callers in South Africa who wouldn't give up on making a PPI claim on my behalf, which I never had a loan or credit card in my life. They are more concerned about making the commissions that comes with this contract with Lepus Marketing as mentioned by regulars, and they will not stop calling you unless you sign up with them, I even out the phone down on them a million times or more this year on them. A very few calls I accidently answered, and one chap even bothered to ask me about my bank details so he could process my ppi claim, he could not tell me my name. I even told this chap, I had a Japanese Bank account from a bank called FUKU, he still didn't take the hint that I was not eligible for a PPI refund. So I asked him to wait a moment whilst I get the paperwork for this account, so I placed the phone in the Cold Call Box (one which I sound proofed) and closed the lid. I went back to it an Hour later He had hung up, just for him to ring again a few minutes later. Blocking these morons don't help, as these people would call you on another 0161 939 number, so it is pointless. It is not rocket science, these people would not give up, as greed plays a big role in this PPI scam. Never ever give this company any relevant information like I am a student etc etc. 1st Call Group a very aggressive cold calling company that has refused to take no for an answer, and they are breaking many law in this country just for them to make a claim on your behalf, for a refund you may not be entitled to in the first place. Digital Mail is aware of the problem there clients are making to us, these cold callers are making telephone calls on their network, so these cold callers can appear to be local as an illusion of trickery. Just because Digital Mail is not making these cold calls, they are still making a profit from their clients, which these people are effecting our lives. Please share your anguish pain back to Digital Mail their number is 020 7060 2000!!!!!

So called PPI claim company, stating that a PPI Refund was due from my Credit Card company. Don't have a credit card due to my bad credit, so this is an obvious scam. I am registered with the TPS and am ex-directory. I got a call from this number last night and stupidly got into an explanation with these cold call scammers of why I wasn't worried about ppi and I ended up stopping her from trying to explain that I could still claim it on credit cards, etc etc etc, the call was pointless so I put the phone down on her. The next day, a chap with a South African accent called me from this number and asked for my name. He said he was working with the banks to refund interest paid on credit cards before 2009. I told him repeatedly that I wasn't interested (should have hung up), and repeated again that I wasn't interested as he was shouting at me that I need to listen to him, then I put the phone on him. So this rude chap rang me back, just to tell me how rude I was, when he was trying to save me money, and I should listen to him, so I put the phone down again on him. Just for him to ring my phone every several minutes for a complete hour, which I counted about 18 missed calls from these cold callers, this was quite unpleasant (very bullying and intimidating) experience I had with this PPI scammer looking to scam me out of my hard earned money. After these scammers stopped ringing my mobile, I made a stupid decisison to call this number back. I had an automated voice telling me that this number is not for sale, and they can only stop incoming calls, not outgoing, which did not make any sense for a professional telecoms company to use. This message sounded very illegitimate, and the automted voice sounded very bazzare and I had a hard time understanding the message that was said by the robot female on this number. After reading the comments on this page from the regulars who post them. So why does a bunch of South African based cold callers get to use a local Manchester number for a dodgy PPI scam, after all this PPI scam company is based in South Africa? I've had 135 of these PPI calls in the last 2 weeks from Digital Mail's client (most I did not answer) so I have no choice but to change my landline telephone number. Changing my telephone number is my only option that might work end these scam calls, since blocking these cold callers does not work at after all. Despite these telephone calls are coming from their Digital Mail telephone network, which this company trys to tell us this telephone number was only used for inbound calls, what a bunch of useless morons from Digital Mail's support team. I have no idea who the why Digital Mail is protecting their client, but the only way to stop them is if everyone makes a formal complaint to Ofcom either via the internet or phone about Digital Mail. I've already complained about them and I hope this company get fined a huge amount of money for their role in this scam.

I also get lots of calls from this number. I asked the nature of the company and why they are calling me for. The chap normally gets very aggressive repeating to me over and over that I am owed PPI from my bank. I just kept asking the nature of the call and what the name of his company. He did not like this one bit explaining, he wanted needed to confirm my postal details, and the person he was talking to. I told him he phoned my number and not the other way around so I started to asking the questions. He continued asking me to confirm my identity by asking for my name address and post code, so I told him to come off script and answer my question. I also told him I wasn't prepared to give out those details to a random PPI scam caller, he then started to get angry with me. So I put the phone on the table and walked away continuing my chores and could hear his aggressive ranting shouts in the background!!!, he eventually hung up, but why should we have to deal with this abuse from Digital Mail's clients. As long as these people at Digital Mail gets a payment from their clients, it is ok for their clients to harass us. Oh and by the way, STOP MOANING ABOUT USELESS TPS, this isn't a sales call its an illegal scam, and the police should be involved never mind the TPS. Digital Mail should be ashamed for selling their services to cold callers (scammers or criminals) pretending to be located here in the UK. How can you spoof a telephone number that has been inactive for so long, the answer is not for long. These people have been ringing me for close to a year with the same telephone numbers, so this telephone number and many more numbers is coming from Digital Mail's network, not spoofed as claimed by morons at Digital Mail. If Digital Mail divulge information about their clients to authorities, then they might as well go out of business, after all it is big business selling their telephone numbers and services to scammers. I have never seen one Digital Mail telephone number being used legitimately, their numbers are always being used by crooks in these cold calling scams. Most of Digital Mail's clients call us, not the other way around as these morons claim. I even got a telephone from their 0203 London number, which was 020 3000 7659, which their clients again phoned my personal mobile number, not my landline in the PPI scam. This lady called me stating that I won 10 free Euro millions lottery tickets, that's only if I give her my bank account number and sort code to confirm my identity, which is another trickery scam. Does anyone have a solution how to end this madness from Digital Mail and their clients, blocking them and ignoring them does not work. Why should I change my telephone number for them to stop harassing me in their illegal trade of Digital Mail's clients.

I get repeated calls from this number, comes up as 'Manchester' on my phone. The usual scam call but could tell this straight away by the delay and then background noise, this number is ringing constantly my phone so I finally answered it. I have had 46 missed calls in the past 9 days from this number. This lady asked for my name and I asked what it was about and she would not tell me in details what it was about except to say it was about PPI refund from my bank. I told her to stop ringing my phone but its like talking to a brick wall!! When I asked who they were she wanted to asked all sorts of personal questions like loans and credit cards, basically ignoring me. I obviously didn't tell her anything, like most PPI scams I am really fed up with these ppl would stop calling me! I'm terminally ill with cancer so very difficult for me as they call when I am resting. I've reported to TPS but I've been told that doesn't do any good, if this telephone number has been used for illegitimate purposes as many regulars mentioned here. I even tried to ring this number back but was un professional message claiming this company Dee and Club are the ones that supply the line to these ppl and they have blocked the incoming part of the calls, but not the outbound part, which does not make any sense for them to mention. How can this telephone number not be for sale, when it is still active and harassing me about PPI refund that I am not entitled to, as I never had a mortgage, credit card, and etc. The only unscrupulous people in this scam is Dee and Club or Digital Mail, which they are selling their telephone services to cold callers, these foreigners who are based from questionable countries are preying on the vulnerable ppl of Britain in their scams to defraud the British of their hard earned savings.

This is considered a scam and fraud telephone as my ageing parents were contacted by this so called PPI Team, I took over the call as my parents could not understand these cold calling scammers wanted from them. This I was chatting with was foreign and this call was made on a very bad line, sure this was from a amateur VoIP telecoms company (which Digital Mail fits the description) since I never heard of this company until I read the comments on this page about Digital Mail. This very rude lady was very pushy on the phone, wanting to know my parents full credit history and any loans they taken out recently, it is a obvious PPI scam as they did not know my parents full name, nor address, or post code. I must admit the call was very lousy call centre (in what sounded like a pub or an environment like that), but one point was I asked for my parents bank details and a sort code, so she can check if there were a miss sold the PPI from their bank. When I told her that there were no loans token out from the bank in the past thirty years, this is when the last payment on my parents mortgage was made. She explained that this was not the case and in fact my parents would still be eligible to claim the PPI back on a their mortgage, which PPI never existed back thirty years (which apparently at this point this call is a scam). I asked to be removed for calling list. the lady got quite stroppy with me and tried to challenge me on the number of calls that she "apparently" made to my parents. When I told her she had no right to call my parents, let alone challenge a perfectly eligible "no thanks" she got from me, then she got quite aggressive. I asked her for the company she worked for, their address and anything useful to stop it these calls from happening, she then refused to tell me any details. As she clearly is never going to get a sale out of me nor my parents at this point, I can only conclude that that company she works for enjoys irritating, bullying and upsetting people for the sheer hell of it. I am totally upset with these *astards so who think they could make a commission on anyone in their PPI scams. I also will reporting this company, which I found out their real name is 1st Call Group (who is based in South Africa) and Digital Mail (the VoIP company) who sell their telephone services to foreigners who will normally prey on the elderly of Britain. Digital Mail will also be reported it to the ICO along their client 1st Call Group and will also add yet another number to my call barred list for my parents!! This is not how a ppi firm should operate and my parents would have been sucked into this scam, and lost money in this oblivious scam, if I did not take over the phone call for them at that moment for my parents.

They told me I could claim money back from a cheque I had made late last year. This very rude chap started to shout at me, when I told him that I wasn't interested, he even laughed at me when I told him that have no ppi or bank refunds due to me. I also told him that I am only 15 years old, he soon stopped shouting abruptly and put the phone down on me hard. An hour later his colleague rang from the same telephone number, again with the same PPI cheque refund scam story. Not sure where they get information from, as they did not know my name, address, just obviously my personal mobile number. I warned family and friends that these are PPI scam (nuisance calls) as this these PPI team would try to scam you out of your money. I rang the this number back on my mobile after the second call, only to hear a silly robot message, which I could not make any sense of it. It is very obvious that this telephone number was used outbound calling purposes of this scam, not inbound as the message claimed by those silly robots, I wonder about this message. Maybe it sounds like this robot message is a ploy to throw us off their scent for this so called PPI scam. I hope Dee and Club (Digital Mail Ltd) gets fined heavily for their role in this scam

When I answered by accident on these scammers, a really rude woman started to berate me because she had been calling my number for the third time! today. I was shocked to be greeted like this and I asked where she was from but her South African accent was so thick I couldn't quite make out PPI. Needless to say, she asked me if I was hard of hearing and when I asked who she was looking for, what an unpleasant interruption to my day!
Which many of these cold calling scammers are still claiming to offer PPI refunds to us and are still ringing us more and more everyday despite we tell them to stop and not to call us ever again, despite being on the TPS registry with the government. Many of these types of harassment calls we receive from Digital Mail's clients on a daily basis. Which we know these type of telephone calls which would not stop, especially when the cold caller is based out of South Africa and rings your telephone line more than four times a day just because it believes it is exempt from the TPS for calling outside the UK.
This cold calling company name is 1st Call Group (based in South Africa), which has a contract with Lepus Marketing (which is based in actual Manchester) worth more than £2 million for making cold calls about PPI to us. This company called 1st Call Group does not care, if you are not interested into their PPI cold calling scam to defraud your bank of our their own money and you worked be committing a fraud offence if you use Lepus and 1st Call for a PPI claim.
This telephone number they ring you from on belongs to Digital Mail Ltd, which is used for outbound calling only for this scam, which their website dmconnect12.com tells they offer outbound calling services cheaper than most UK landline providers in the UK. According to Rob their product manager Rob, which also was demonstrating on this video found here (http://notes.dmclub.net/1094) how to spoof their telephone numbers on any telephone network or number around the world. Rob was showing in the video how to spoof their Digital Mail VoIP number on his mobile, so any call made he from his mobile did not look like as it was originating from Digital Mail. Now with VoIP you could be anywhere in the United Kingdom, which is the type of telephone service Digital Mail sells to it's clients. After the harassment I received from this telephone, and Digital Mail is totally at fault with these calls. Digital Mail's staff has the power to stop these calls, but chosen not to do a thing by ignoring their clients type of behaviour. I believe the more calls they receive, the better the results could be in the long run to end this type of cold calling that plagues us day after day, please telephone them on 020 7060 2000. We will not tolerate this type of behaviour from the clients of Digital Mail any more.

    11/3/15, 2:10 PM

This number has been calling for month, plus this number has been ringing me sometimes right after each other and it is a nuisance sometimes 6 or 7 times a day. Sometimes I answer this number by accident and recently I asked them to stop ringing and take my number off their list, which has never happened as they refused to do so. Basically these foreign cold callers are trying to get you to make a claim against your bank. What they are trying to saying on the phone, if you have ever had a bank account, they can get you a refund (which is known a PPI scam) and this refund could be a criminal offence if you try to make a false claim against your bank (a PPI refund that you are not entitled to). After 30 or more times, I even told this chap over the phone that I might be interested claiming PPI against my bank, but I could not find my bank details at the moment, nor my sir name, and my full address even including the post code and full name. He said, no problem (the foreign sounding chap) that he will call me back at later time. He said once he calls me back, as long as I have my bank details, the process to make this PPI claim will take less than 10 minutes over the telephone with him. If I agreed to the terms and if they are successful this PPI team normally takes about 30 to 39% off the refund from the PPI claim as their commission for helping me get back money from my bank, so I at this point I do not think they are genuine. If these people are legit and by using them to make claim against your bank, you will lose a very big part of your PPI claim to them as part of their commission, that's if the PPI team is legitimate UK company, which they are not. I have also exhausted the blocked numbers capability on my mobile phone, this is getting really aggravating, UK telephone companies like Digital Mail should not be giving local UK numbers to foreign callers who main objective is to scam the general population of this country. I haven't had any credit cards or any loans with any of the banks in the past 10 years, so it is just a phishing or scam call however else that want to phrase it, they just randomly dial numbers hoping to find a gullible victims and that Digital Mail should be banned from operating as a UK telecoms company. Some of you people are turning these calls into a hobby. Here's some good advice: when you've realised the caller has no reason to call you (ie within 10 seconds) just say No Thank You and put the phone down on them, Job done. If they ring back then out the phone down again on them as many times as it takes. Don't waste your time blocking them, that's a loser's game and they will go around the block with another telephone number supplied by Digital Mail. Your precious TPS can't stop this foreign call centre objective (which is to make £ 2 million plus commission on harassing you into signing a phony PPI claim from your bank), and neither can you. These call reporting websites like tellows are useful to get some idea who was calling, but don't make it your life's work worrying about these trivial things such as these scammers. Do not get mad just get even by ringing Digital Mail every time, their client rings you, their telephone number is 020 7060 2000. I have refused all telephone calls from this telephone number 0161 939 0225, so I suspect that they have another 0161 939 ready to harass us once enough of us have blocked them on this 0161 939 0225 number, and many more still to come. I have politely told these scammers no, and they did not ever listen to sound of me not being interested into their scam. They just keep ringing my mobile, maybe they are hoping a payout on me from a another cold calling lead, why would I let some foreign company make a profit on me, why should Digital Mail allow a foreign company to scam me out of my hard earned money. Digital Mail will be reported to the ICO (which the ICO telephone number is 0300 123 2040) for their role in this PPI scam, and failure to inform the authorities about their clients cold calling behaviour, which many do not want to be harassed about a bogus PPI refund to claim against any random bank (it is a criminal offence to make a false claim against any bank or business). I am also taking the advice like every regular in this forum has, and ringing Digital Mail every time their client rings me with a threatening and harassing PPI call. Digital Mail's telephone is 020 7060 2000 and I will not believe Digital Mail's story that the calls never originate from them. They claim you can save significant amount of money by making telephone calls with them over any telephone provider on their dmconnect12.com website, which you can find this link somewhere on dmclub.net So how can Digital Mail be the victim, when the facts stack up to them being totally at fault with their client? Hounding Digital Mail about their clients behaviour may be our only option to stop this madness, call them back on 020 7060 2000, please tell them how much stress their client is putting you through with their bogus PPI scam?

These line of telephone numbers ( 01619390xxx which is all owned by Digital Mail) is mostly being reported in tellows for fake PPI telemarketing purposes, so be aware... I have received calls from at least 4 numbers from the same range addressing the same problem, people be really aware of this, if you pick it up the phone you will not get rid of them and all info you provided to them could be used fraudulently against you (016193900075, 01619390225, 01619390228, 01619390335)... all from the same call centre in South Africa.
This is harassment now. ..they call, hang up then 1 -5 minutes later, they call back. told them to stop calling, 10 minutes later they call back. Told me they found ppi refund from my bank on a loan 2 years ago, I never had a loan with any of the banks .... dummy's , you might as well say they are trying to steal money from your bank on your behalf so you will be committing fraud as well, if you use them for PPI claim back. These scammers even had incorrect of me name but ans to it calling from Manchester about charges on bank acc expressed twice was never not interested and I need to go my sainsbury delivery was at the door. This scammer rather got rather angry with me asking why I would not want to claim money back? Erm I told you not interested! I just put phone down must get least 7 calls a week from various numbers from the 0161 939xxxx range, this should not be allowed from the clients of Digital Mail. There is no other way round arghhh these cold callers which so angers me stop calling!!

These people keep calling as they don't seemed to care, and the caller calls with a noisy background, I had a few of these calls recently in the past few days. I ask them to hang on while I get the person that might have PPI with them (which is a scam) and I just put the phone under a cushion until they ring off, just to ring back within minutes claiming to have a bad connection as the call is made over the internet (VoIP). If my daughters get called from them, she has whistles to blow down their phones. Needless to say their calls have never ceased and who will stop them, not Digital Mail!! I suspect it is a virtual (VoIP) number that links you to a call centre in South Africa, which they believe they above UK laws as this company is pretending to be based in Manchester as part of their scam as they are actually ringing outside the UK. Which this PPI scam has lost the plot and has created more hassle from more idiots who feel they can scam you still. So don't waste your time block them or blow a whistle down the phone then put the phone down on them!!!!!!! Digital Mail sounds like an not a professional UK telecoms company after these comments left on this page, after all they sold their virtual telephone services to scammers, which now it seems they have admitted in part when you ring them back on 0161 939 0225. This is the impression I got after I called 0161 939 0225 and got a bunch of intelligible audio claiming digital mail also known as Dee and Club (have no clue what this means) has shut those scammers down, but this has not happened as they claim the calls never came from them, but would not give a remedy how to stop this madness. The audio sounds so unprofessional and it sounds almost that the scammer could have used a generated text to voice software to make this message (the free version which is lousy). Just to fool you to believe Digital Mail is on to them, in reality they are not close enough. After all this number rings my phone several times a day, and does not seemed to stop. Digital Mail is trying hard to make a profit on our misery, the only solution which I might do, would be Trading Standards Authority against Digital Mail, since everything else has failed!!!! I think everybody should start calling them back lots of times a day so that they become the hounded and get the message. How can I charge them an admin fee for wasting my time with spam/harassment calls? If you want to get your own back for these frequent unwanted calls.....it's up to you. 020 7060 2000 be as rude as you like!

It seems that the Telephone Preference Service, Ofcom, Action Fraud and the Information Commissioner are willing to act against a UK registered UK based company who are aiding and abetting fraudsters and scammers based outside the U.K. All they say is the fraudulent use of UK telephone numbers cannot be stopped "unless there is a considerable number of complaints made against the PPI caller".
Thee fraudulent organisations are using these telephone lines to obtain payment from gullible members of the public for non-existent PPI claims, but apparently that isn't enough.
In the most cases they are basing their request for money on incomplete untruths on how you qualify for the refund.
The most common one I have received is a call saying that I been owed PPI back from my bank, but would these scammers know what bank or bulding society you belong, yet alone your full name on the electorol roll. Maybe thewy are taking a chance on trickery that you would fall for their scam.
These scammers are using the lesser attempts to scam money by claiming PPI fraud on your behalf.
In all of these cases they told me that their records indicated that I had a chance of getting a lot of money, though I have had no accident, and no PPI, and my pension is already being paid to me.
The telephone numbers they ring you on, may appear to be calling you in the U.K. That's because of VoIP technology, which can actually connect you to various places round the world without actually being in the U.K.
VoIP is telephone service Digital Mail sells to it's clients, which means you could be anywhere in the United Kingdom or the world without being tied to a geographical location unlike telephone services you get with BT.
These scammers have been using Dmclub Limited, a dormant company of Digital Mail Limited whose registered office is at 6 Osborn Street, London E1 6TD.
    Some of their clients that Digital Mail is trying to protect from UK prosuction also uses other Digital Mail VoIP numbers which are 020 7060 3772, 020 7060 3887, 020 7060 9336, 0161 939 0225, 0161 939 0228, 0161 939 0335, 0161 939 0442, and 0161 939 0075.
Digital Mail Limited had provided telephone services to a company in South Africa, which goes by several names which ran similar PPI scam in the past few years, just wonder if they changed their pretend location from London to Manchester.
First Call Group / 1st Call Group / First Call Centre Solutions whose registered address is 220 Flanders Drive, 4300 Mt Edgecombe, Durban, South Africa could be the culprits causing you grief in the endless saga called PPI claim back.
First Call Group has a Telephone: + 27 (0)31 000 0005 which is based in South Africa
Just remember any calls you receive from First Call Group, PPI Team, it could be a new company I never heard of yet, or a different company that Digital Mail sells their services to as these PPI scammers that may portray themselves of being based in London or Manchester. Keep in mind as they are not authorised under the financial Services and markets Act of 2000 (FSMA) to carry on a regulated activity in the UK.
Regulated activities include, amongst other things, advising on investments and dealing and arranging deals in investments (investments include rights under a contract of insurance). PPI also known as payment protection insurance falls under the Financial Services and Markets Act of 2000. Another thing inbound calls are handled through Dmclub Limited (company number 05763815), and outbound calls are Dmcalls Limited (Company number 05763808). Both companies are listed at companies house as being dormant companies of Digital Mail Limited. It could be possible that Digital Mail could have ended their inbound call service agreement (which is handled by Dmclub Limited), but kept their outbound account alive and active to make calls (which is Dmcalls Limited). This explains why the calls are still getting through to us, despite we told these scammers to stop!!!!!
Anyone receving calls from this telephone number should report it as fraud and receive a police crime reference number, call Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040 with as much information as possible, including Digital Mail details as they are the responsible for allowing scammers to use their telephone numbers without their permission.

I have had over 40 calls from these people on their new number 0161 939 7225. These scammers are trying to get you to claim PPI and will not take no for an answer. They called my mobile a month ago and I strung this chap along for over 8 minutes since it was a landline to mobile call, thinking that they would pay a lot for the this scam call. He stuck very closely to a script trying to tell me I was owed money from past loans and could claim back for free. Asked him to remove my number from data base and was told "how do you expect me to do that!!!!". Having to put the phone down on them 90 times in past year on their old numbers 0161 939 0225, 0161 939 0228, and 0161 939 0442. Now these cold callers use multiple Digital Mail telephone numbers for their scams, there is no way of blocking them. Very often we get nuisance calls from Digital Mail and tried to call back the number as it is unobtainable with illegitimate messages from either the scammers or Dee and Club. Digital Mail is the trading namer of Dee and Club, the most stupidest name for a VoIP telecoms provider. They keep on pretend they are in Manchester, but from their accents they are sure someone in South Africa? Maybe everybody should start calling Digital Mail back on 020 7060 2000, lots of times a day as their clients call us, so that they become the hounded and get the message that this is not acceptable way to make money by selling to foreign scamming cold callers?

Another telephone call from 0161 939 0225 as these cold callers were telling me that I was owed PPI from my bank, similar number to 0161 939 0442 (from the Manchester area) as foreign sounding lady stating that I had applied for a PPI refund, but when I told her that I have never appiled as I could not be bothered, she got rather rude and try to explain to me in broken english 'you dont understand', then I told her to stop calling my number! She started shouting at me saying I am entitled to PPI refund please listen to me, at this point I simply put the phone down on her. To this day they are still calling my number, I just simply do not answer the calls as the telephone calls are pointless!! Getting peed off with it now to say the least. This starts making me wonder where they get our telephone numbers from as I don't tend to give it out to any Joe Boggs. See how annoying you find that! I've had daily calls from them now for about 2 years from this PPI scammers as they will not take no for answer as they started calling me with 0161 939 0442, moving to 0161 939 0228, now 0161 939 0225, and what I read by regulars here. Soon I be getting calls about PPI on 0161 939 7225, now I am thoroughly fed up with this sort of harassment from Digital Mail's clients!

I got a call from 0161 939 0225 earlier today. They gave me a very questionable story about my bank owing my a PPI refund on bank loan, and that they had my name on a database with information about me, which this that didn’t sound right. I asked where he got my number from, he said it came through on his system and they were calling everyone in the UK that they claimed that I was on their list. I asked them for my name, which they could not tell me other than I am owed a refund from my bank. I asked them what bank owes me this money, this chap started shouting at me asking for my address so he could send something to me about what we were chatting about. I had to tell him and repeated myself 3 times to him that he had no permission to call my number, asked him once again 3 times to delete my number, and I also told him for the last 3 times not to call me again. This chap had the nerve to tell me, he would call me 30 times a day. This dodgy PPI claims calls has been widespread cold calling anyone who would take the bait, on mis-sold Payment Protection Insurance scam that you are not entitled to claim from your bank. So the very questionable sounding claims about me made in the phone call by these cold callers made me lead to one clear conclusion, better safe than sorry and steer well clear as these people did not know who I was, yet alone my bank name. These PPI cold calling companies are mainly from companies that deliberately ignore the law by contracting their work to 3rd party cold callers based aboard. These sometimes use generic sounding names that cannot be used to accurately identify an organisation such as PPI team, Solar Panels UK, PPI Claims Ltd etc and they may refuse to give you any details at all. Understandably this makes contacting these companies or targeting them for enforcement extremely difficult or even impossible when companies like Digital Mail pretend the calls never came from them. as they like to hide under their rug or in the closet while their clients harass us. Digital Mail does provide both outbound calling along with inbound calling, but these cold calling calling companies only choose to make calls to us in their PPI scams. I would avoid doing business with anyone that has a telephone number starts with 0161 939 also with 020 3000 or 020 7060 as Digital Mail's telephone number are by illegitimate foreign scamming companies.

Told them what I know about the fact I never ever had a loan, credit card or bought anything on finance in my entire life. To be fair she was not nice about what I told her and I also told her that I don't get any more calls from her company. She told me that she would not remove my number until she sends me something in the post. I asked her again to stop calling and take me off her list. She told me she would call as many times as it takes to get something sent to me through the post, then I just put the phone down on her. This number has called 4 times day for over a month now, after I have told her twice please remove me from her calling lists but they obviously have not done so. Really getting sick of these unsolicited calls from these 0161 939 numbers now. I tried to call this number back to find out who it was and got a very strange recorded message saying this had been used by unscrupulous people and they no longer had any connection to the company. I stopped listening to the message in case it was costing me, as it seems unusual for someone to put stupid message I never heard before in my life! Why are the relevant authorities not doing something about Digital Mail and their client? After all Digital Mail are the ones who sold them their telephone number to scammers based in South Africa? As they are still trying to claim total innocent from their involvement in this scam, as they did not sold this company outbound calling services, just only inbound calling swervices. When you visit dmconnect12.com, Digital Mail try to sell themselves as being the cheapest telecoms provider in regards to making outbound calling to landlines and mobiles versus using BT and Skype to make business calls. If Digital Mail got involved and turned in their client for cold calling, which they are trying to scam Britain, and preying on the elderly. Digital Mail could be bankrupt themselfs, as I agree with many here think about Digital Mail and their cold calling clients. I think Digital Mail is too much of an amateur VoIP compay to get legitimate UK companies. Digital Mail may not have no other choice but sell their telephone services to foreigners who prey on the vulnerable with rude and unacceptable tactics to get a commission based on trickery cold calling methods. PPI Cold calling is indiscriminate as people don't like being sold something they haven't expressed an interest in or isn't even suitable for their needs. Cold calling is a scattergun approach to marketing, i.e. if you 'hit' enough customers one will eventually take up an offer. As most of my experience with this company matches the experience everyone else dealt with. So my problem is not out of the ordinary that we face from these PPI cold calling scammers and Digital Mail.

To be fair I had such an entertaining time with them, it did pass a boring twenty minutes in the office, but they were very aggressive, and goodness knows what would have happened had I been fooled to give them any details.

Having said that, I'd invite another all back if only to hear them describe the weather in Manchester as very hot and sunny!

This company has called me 11 times this week, they drive me bonkers. I never answer and just silence my phone, but they're really becoming a pain. I'm on call for work and so I'm unable to switch my phone off or silence it.
1st Call Group who is based in Durban, which is in South Africa has got my number by setting a random dialler to call every mobile number in the UK from 0775 000 000 to 0799 999 999 - if they get a connection (even if you don't answer or block them) they list it as a valid number and try to call you several times a day. Every time you answer one of these aggressive PPI cold calls, where they can give you a bogus refund minus 30% for their commission. Try to block them, they will try to harass you on another Digital Mail number like 0161 939 0226, 0161 939 0227, or 0161 939 0228 until you sign up with them. Blocking them will never work as I have already blocked 0161 939 0228 and 0161 939 0335 as they will go around the block by creating 0161 939 0225 so blocking does not work. Despite 1st Call Group is breaking every UK law just to get their £2,000,000 contract from Lepus Marketing. The contract must have included bonuses which can be unlimited, which depends how many gullible people they can have sign up to this bogus PPI scheme. So the answer is to the question, they will not stop, 1st Call Group is a bunch of greedy cold calling group out of South Africa. Digital Mail has been a bunch of useless morons who could not turn their client into the government, instead they want us to do their work for them. I have not been convinced that Digital Mail's clients contract (1st Call Group) has ended or otherwise the calls would stop. There is allot of confusion when you call their number back, I strongly believe they feel that TPS, ICO, and ofcom would not prosecute these foreign cold calling centres for 1st Call Group being located overseas in South Africa. Maybe the government should fine Digital Mail for failure to report their client's behaviour, and not putting an end to this madness once and for all or otherwise these types of calls would just escalate out of hand. Anyone receiving calls from this telephone number should report it as fraud and receive a police crime reference number, call Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040 with as much information as possible, including Digital Mail details as they are the responsible for allowing scammers to use their telephone numbers

Lepus marketing trading as PPI team, sounds like a legitimate PPI company.
Now Telemarketing firms that bombard householders with unsolicited phone calls of PPI claims could face fines of up to £500,000.

Could it be possible they could risk being fined severely, if 0161 939 0225 can be linked to Lepus Marketing and Digital Mail Ltd.
With Digital Mail's claim that any outbound calls made from this number 0161 939 0225 and other telephone numbers they own are NOT coming through their telephone network and have nothing to do with them.

Whether Lepus Marketing has a account with Digital Mail, or is spoofing Digital Mail's telephone number 0161 939 0225.
This company called Digital Mail can not be bothered anyhow in sorting out this mess out and taking action against their clients, which many of these PPI scammers have been using Digital Mail telephone numbers for over two years now.
Even if whatever this company Lepus Marketing or another company is spoofing Digital Mail's telephone numbers, it is still Digital Mail's responsibility to investigate and take legal action against the companies who are defrauding them by spoofing their telephone numbers for nuisance call purposes.
When these scammers have been using their telephone numbers for over two years, and Digital Mail's claim and defence is that they have nothing to do with these calls. This could point out the fact that Digital Mail is an irresponsible telecoms company, who can not be bothered to keep their telephone network clean from scammers spoofing their network or from their clients who paid money for telephone services and numbers provided by Digital Mail Ltd.

These nuisance calls from these scammers is giving Digital Mail a bad reputation as being a dodgy telecom provider who will sell their telephone services to anyone, this is the impression I got from this company from the response their support team provided me, absolutely nothing other than they can not help get this problem sorted out.
Could Digital Mail be throwing a legitimate Mancunian based company into this comment page, just to throw off their clients who purchased their telephone services from being hounded and caught out in the act of this PPI cold call scam.
Digital Mail have already told a pack of lies claiming they do not do outbound calling only inbound calls, when http://notes.dmclub.net/1094 tells they offer outbound calling services cheaper than landline according to Rob their product manager, which also was demonstrating how to spoof their telephone numbers on other telephone networks including mobiles so any call made from his telephone did not look like as it was originating from Digital Mail. With VoIP you could be anywhere in the United Kingdom, which is the type of telephone service Digital Mail sells to it's clients. So it is possible for someone located in London to have a 0161 Mancunian telephone when they sign up for telephone services with Digital Mail, all thanks to this new technology called VoIP and the internet of course.

These scammers are still claiming to offer PPI refunds to us and are still ringing us more and more everyday despite we tell them to stop and not to call us ever again, despite being on the TPS registry.
When these types of calls we receive from Digital Mail's clients on a daily basis goes from being a nuisance to harassment. Which we know these type of telephone calls which would not stop, especially when the scammer rings your business line more than four times a day and does not get the message you are not interested into your PPI Scam to defraud you out of our own money you worked hard for in the first place.
As for Digital Mail the company that can not be bothered into sorting this mess out with their clients and ending this cold call scammers once and for all as they lack the interest to keep their telephone network clean of them.

After all this telephone number belongs to Digital Mail Ltd, please do give this company a call back to leave positive feedback for pain you have suffered from their clients misery by telephoning them on 020 7060 2000 (any-time Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 18:00, excluding bank holidays).
Just by speaking to them will make a slight difference if a large number of us call them on a daily basis (after all their clients are breaking the law), the more calls they receive from us, the better the results could be for us in the long run to end this type of scam that plagues us day after day, as we will not tolerate this type of behaviour from Digital Mail's clients any more.
    verypdoff replied 9/14/15, 11:15 PM
I just had telephone call claiming I was owed PPI from my bank, and after I told him that I am on the register with TPS, this chap told me that they weren't subject to TPS. The person I spoke with had a South African accent in his voice, not Mancunian (which I do not buy this company being based in the UK or anywhere near Manchester). This chap refused to take my number off their call list and started to shout at me in a sort of a laughing but kind of a aggressive manner. He told me that he can call me if he wanted to and when he wanted to, and at any time he wanted to. He also ensured me that he would not get in any sort of trouble for making such calls to me as he insisted that PPI claim calling was not some of nuisance or cold call according to what he told me, since he told me that he was not trying to sell me any service or product requiring a payment from me, just only telling me I am owed PPI from my bank, which I could get a refund only if I tell him my and bank details. Which this type of telephone call and behaviour that this chap is presenting to me is considered some sort of harassment and fraud. Besides in which part that of these scammers don't get. The part that we are not interested in allowing them to steal our bank details into their PPI scam. I wonder if these these people just randomly dial telephone numbers from the yellow book in a game of chancery that someone get duped into believing their fabricated story they can claim PPI compensation, in reality that they may not be untitled to claim any sort of money under law. Anyhow, I will be reporting this telephone number along with Digital Mail details (since Digital Mail's telephone support team is a bunch of useless morons) when I tried to report their client to them. So Digital Mail will be reported to the Information Commissioners Office, who could actually determine who is actually responsible for all these nonsense telephone calls. Why can these scammers get away with making such calls along with aggression, and all Digital Mail defence is, it's not their problem as the calls are not coming from them without making an effort to properly investigate this problem from their client. I suggest everyone reports this telephone number to the ICO (that's if you get these type of calls regularly without any stops), ICO investigation team is very helpful and only takes a few minutes and you can do it on by calling them on 0303 123 1113.

    6/15/17, 4:54 PM

I had a call from Nick at First Call about an accident I had. he said he was calling on xxxxx behalf to find out how my claim was handled. He kept harping on about discomfort payment & pains and how I had 2.5 years to make this claim. I don't wish to make any claims I told him. He then Harped on about how the third party insurers can use this fund to do as they please. I told him not my money so they can do as thy like. Why would it matter to me, apparently I should be upset or something. He said they would send me a pack. I told him don't bother as my husband bins everything. He asked for an email address and I stupidly gave it to him. His colleague called Ashleigh called on 0786310882. I told them some rubbish and hopefully I won't hear from them again! Scammsters be warmed. The packs apparently cost £90 or something but they don't warn you about any fees or payments. Just saying all you need to do is sign it. I did say I wouldn't be signing anything.

Investigator Rhys Jenn reported PPI with the number ‎01619390225 as Harassment calls

    11/19/15, 4:06 PM

I have had so so many calls from this PPI company I have lost count. I have worked in call centres before and know that legally if someone asks to be removed from the list, then you must ensure their number is removed, and yet they don't seem to do this.

Annette Butterworth replied 11/20/15, 12:38 AM
For starters, this is what is known as cold calling. The people who are making these calls are based in South Africa and the companies name is 1st Call Group. Yes legally if someone asks to be removed from the list, then first call group must remove your number from their database, and stop cold calling you on this bogus PPI refund that you may not be entitled to. Keep in mind 1st Call Group makes a commission on every PPI claim made on your behalf, and this is based on their contract with Lepus Marketing which is worth a minuim of £2 million. So this company will harrase you until you sign a PPI claim with them. Blocking this or any 0161 939 number from your phone is pointless, as this company will go around the block with another 0161 939 number. 1st Call Group will refuse to take you off their list when you tell them no for them to make a phony PPI claim on your behalf, this is for a PPI refund you may not be entitled to in the first place. Digital Mail is the telecoms company based in London who 1st Call Group has purchased this telephone number from has been made aware of the problem from many of us who are fed up of these types of harassing PPI phone calls. 1st Call is only using their telephone numbers to make outbound telephone calls to us on their telephone network, so these cold callers like 1st Call Group can appear to be local as an illusion of trickery. Digital Mail is making a profit from their clients, which these people are effecting our lives with their cold calling practices. Please do share your thoughts on their clients back to Digital Mail as the number to ring them is 020 7060 2000!!!!!

this company called me up 3 times in 3 days , I finally answered and got the response "if I don't let him speak he will call me every day" so now I added the number to my black list. this company needs to be closed for good and fined heavily.

Paul Bismark replied 10/31/15, 2:01 AM
Much the same as other comments on this forum....calls 2/3/4 times a day as no-one speaks to them, as I black listed every 0161 939 number from Digital Mail, this company only sells telephone services to scammers, and pretends the calls never originates from their telephone network. Even my answer phone gets often clogged with blank messages from these so called South African PPI team as they pretend there in the UK, and you can't even ring the number back as they are also pretending their telephone account with Digital Mail has been closed, and they only used Digital Mail for inbound calling services as mentioned in their robot sounding message. I know this company from South Africa is on some form of commission in a tune of £ 2 million plus unlimited bonus commission for every telephone call which leads to a PPI claim for Lepus Marketing, this also known as cold calling lead generation for this cold calling company which is based in Manchester. This PPI claims company wanting your old loans and credit card company names so they can do a reclaim your PPI fees for you which you'll may not be eligible to get a refund. Digital Mail's support team is a bunch of useless morons, who are protecting their client from UK prosecution by not turning them in for cold calling offensives as many here have been hounding them to do the right thing. Contacting Digital Mail for every call you get from these PPI scammers from this telephone number 0161 939 0225, and Digital Mail's telephone number is 020 7060 2000, please tell them how you think of their clients behaviour.

If you want to get your own back for these frequent unwanted calls.....it's up to you. 020 7060 200, and be as rude as you like! They will get the message at Digital Mail!!!! Well at least eventually, as they will deny their clients cold calling behaviour, and will deny that the calls made from their clients were ever made on their telephone network. We have learned from their product manager Rob, spoofing of their numbers on other telephone numbers is so easy. The Dee and Club company, which is trading as Digital Mail Ltd does not like to be harassed with our phone calls. We just call them, just for us to get their clients to stop harassing us with bogus PPI claims.
