RichB reported Telegraph with the number 01634888000 as Telemarketer
Called Telegraph Sales team and got them to manually remove my number - we'll see if that works - but imagine if we all did that ? Brilliant. It's 0800 33 20 20
Exasperated replied 1/12/17, 10:03 AMIn truth, they might be quite happy to know whom not to call - it costs them money (personnel, electricity, calls, etc.) to make doomed phone calls, and if they are able to concentrate upon those who might be susceptible to persuasion, the return on their outlay will be greater ... and they will avoid the reputational damage caused by their current policy.Dawid Wongton replied 7/18/17, 2:50 PMThanks for number -
Gloogle reported Telegraph with the number +441634888000 as Harassment calls
They called again. This time asking "how do i get my news" i was at work and really not happy to receive invasive calls asking stupid questions so i politely asked them to remove my details from their database. I was ignored and bombarded with "CAN'T YOU PAY JUST £1 A MONTH?" to which i calmly responded that this was now harassment and to please stop contacting me. I was met with a sarcastic "AWWWW BLESS!" and the aggressive male caller hung up. I felt so harassed that I asked my husband to make a complaint. He phoned the telegraph and spoke to a female customer service advisor who assured him that the call would be investigated and that my details were now removed from the telegraph database.

Cancelled a subscription last week. They tried to dissuade me but in the end accepted i was resolute in my decision.
They called today as i found out from googling the number. As soon as i answered the call was ended. Unsure what reason they would have to be phoning me a week after i have cancelled my subscription. -

WHY can these people call when i am reg with the TPA? They said they are from the Daily telegraph - are they??
EPG replied 9/19/17, 11:50 AMI have the same problem. They call even if you are on TPS, because they have no scruples, they are supposed to check the TPS list first, otherwise they are breaking the EU Directive. I had a call a week ago and spoke to a very nice person, I explained about TPS and she apologised and said she would remove me from the list.I did state I shouldn't be on their calling list in the first place, but she promised she was going to remove me, I can only wait and see. But hey are classed as unsolicited calls, I have NEVER subscribed to the Telegraph in any way, shape or form, I haven't bought a newspaper in almost 20 years. I refuse to when I can get all the latest news online. Good Luck. -

Kept calling me although I asked them not to several times. Finally spoke with someone today who said they need a name to remove me from the list. I would not give mine (might just mean more trouble!) but as they were chasing up a former (now lapsed) subscriber they were happy that I gave them his surname.(He left this address in 2012!)

The Daily Telegraph does not hide behind a pay wall and does not make excessive use of "click bait".
So I am happy to tolerate attempts to upgrade me to a subscription to buy tomorrows chip wrapper.
There is an element of integrity about established journalism.Jan replied 5/24/17, 9:27 AMIt's just a pity their reporting is so biased in favour of the Conservatives. But then looks who owns it. -
Monitor1 reported Daily Telegraph with the number 01634888000 as Telemarketer
Regular unsolicited calls being received from this number despite being signed up to TPS and XD.
LittleVoice replied 4/19/17, 11:11 AMAs this may well be a Daily Telegraph subscription offer that they want to make, have you ever entered a competition with the DT, bought something from them or had a subscription? If you have and not specifically opted out of marketing calls then their call to you would be lawful, would it not? So registering with the TPS would have no effect if you have an existing relationship.EPG replied 4/20/17, 11:51 AMI have never subscribed or entered any competitions to any newspapers. I have not bought a newspaper for well over a decade, I prefer my news online. These offending companies like the Telegraph are failing to comply with the EC Directive for Privacy & Electronic communications (EU Directive 2003) This is enforced by the Information Commissioner's Office. These companies should screen their data against TPS so registered users are not contacted. Anyone wanting info on TPS can go via their website tpsonline.org.uk. Another useful contact is Ofcom, they give advice on dealing with nuisance calls & messages: contact via consumers.ofcom.org.uk -

Using 1471, I found there had been a call supposedly from this number. Reading other suggestions that it related to the Telegraph newspaper then I would rate this as trustworthy in relation to what they are trying to promote.
I have taken up Telegraph offers in the past (and probably others receiving calls may have done so and provided their phone number at the time and thus do have a business relationship which makes the call lawful). Though usually turning down the offer, they may eventually be interesting enough to accept because of benefits available in addition to receiving the newspaper itself. I answer if I am in (but do not return the call). -

01634888000 has started making unsolicited calls again. Not had them find me since last year, and yes I have TPS and am ex directory, so someone out there is handing out private numbers to these organisations to hassle us.

They are ringing everyday. I have "caller display" on so I never answer them
I AM SICK OF THEM.
You would think they would get it by now.
LEAVE ME IN PEACE.Exasperated replied 1/12/17, 10:00 AMIt would only be harrassment if they continued to callm, once they KNEW you weren't interested in the product/service they are offering. They cannot presume that you have Caller Display, or are otherwise aware of their failed attempt to contact you, so - of course - they will keep trying.... Trying answering - just once - and asking them not to call back. -

Sick and tired of these intrusive tele sales wasters at all times of day and night. They disturb my sick partner and also make us unwilling to pick up the phone un-screened. TPS and x directory in place but no advantage. It would help if all the service providers stopped flogging our numbers to all and sundry.
STRAWBERRYLEMONADE replied 8/3/17, 6:24 PMI think you should all check over the terms of the TPS again. Even if you are registered with them, if you have replied to offers or had any sort of contact with the named company - The TPS will allow you to call them as it's an already established relationship. It's very simple to stop the calls - just stop giving out your details through offers, and if you ever buy anything online make sure you uncheck the box that gives you the option to receive further offers! -

This number has phoned in the past and now rings at least 4 times a day. It may be The Telegraph as mentioned in other comments because they have phoned before about a subscription which I have refused. I am in TPS but it's a waste of time as Imget loads of nuisance calls.

Asked for me by name but we are ex directory so not sure where they got our number from. May block if it continues -

Other people say that it's the Telegraph Media Group, selling subscriptions. I don't answer the number that they use to ring me, but they have been trying, in short spates, for at least a year (possibly as much as two, three or more). If TMG really is responsible, surely it should have realised by now the wisdom of dissociating itself from such techniques.

Found this when doing a google search for the number - was on a pdf for events at the University of Kent? Still no reason to be calling as I'm ex directory and TPS registered and I don't know anyone in Kent! I've been getting these calls at least twice a day with no message left.

Investigator Times Subscriber reported unknown with the number 01634888000 as Telemarketer
I answered the 2nd call having established earlier from this website that the number related to The Telegraph. The person said he was from "The Telegraph" so I asked if he was phoning from or on behalf of. He answered "on behalf of" so I asked the name of his employer and he replied "The Telegraph Media Group". I pointed out that this meant he worked for them and he was silent so I asked the company name on his P60 but he hasn't worked there long so I aked the company name on his wage slip but he fumbled...bless!!! He asked how I accessed the news so I told him a read the paper and he put the phone down!
Always ask who pays their wages, it works every time in my experience and they put the phone down on you!
