Non native English speaker calling from "Vindows" sic.
I kept him on the line for a few minutes claiming that I was pressing buttons but my VCR was not working & could he help me get it working because I wanted to watch a film called Scammers. -
Yet another 'Microsoft' (???) problem with computer scam with an Indian sounding male delivering the good tidings, it's about time the Government and The Telephone companies did something about these parasites, of course the Telephone companies will avoid taking action because it might affect profits, and Ofcom are toothless.

Jut received a phone call from this number regarding my Microsoft windows, just to warn people it's still happening.
I just said not interested and hung up -
Scammers - they do not know anything about your computer. But great fun to string them along - managed to keep them on the phone for over 20 minutes one day. I was laughing so much that the caller made a rude comment and hung up. Great result if you have the time to give them a taste of their own medicine.

Claims to be Brian from Microsoft regarding my computer. Please, please peole, just hang up! We all know it's not 'Brian' not with that accent, it's a scam trying to hack your computer, have a friend who sadly fell for this, ended up with a costly bill for virus removal-luckily? She realised within the same day that she'd been conned, so little damage done & could be fixed. but you have been warned. Don't engage, don't swear at them, just hang up, get caller display, list the number in your phone, so you can ignore all future calls, yes, it's annoying but it works-eventually! Or, if you have time to waste & want a laugh, speak in a made up foreign sounding language, might be gibberish but they don't know & their reaction can be funny. Yea I know really childish, but sort of feels like revenge!

Just had a call from this number to tell me they were making a courtesy call from Microsoft because something malicious had been installed on Windows. When I said "I don't think you are" he seemed offended. Told me it had shown that something was definitely on my computer so I asked which of the 7 we had was the one and he just said the one we use the most. I told him to call back in a month when my dad would be home to speak to him and not before

This number keeps calling my 91 year old mother saying they are in the area to fix her computer. Needless to say she does not have a computer, but it is beginning to unnerve her since they claim they are in the area!
-
I had a call from an immigrant this morning saying that they were from Microsoft, and that there was a big problem with my computer which they needed to fix.
At this point I told them that they were too late, as someone from their number had already called me about the problem yesterday and fixed it for me. At this point the confused person on the other end of the phone said "Oh!", and then hung up.
Anyone who falls for this scam would have to be completely unintelligent. After all it's the first time I've ever spoken to an asian man with the surname of Smith lol! -

Had a phone call about my 'windows' computer! The caller sounded Indian. I have had one of these calls before, not necessarily from the same number, but I almost went along with what they were telling me to do. Fortunately I'm not very computer savvy and had no idea what he was asking me to do so I terminated the call. I've since found out that it's a scam.

It called me when I was out. When I dialed it, I got an error message. More annoying spam.

Usual call from Asian sounding people (yawn yawn) with very English sounding names! Told me the usual (yawn yawn) story how my computer is infected. They now use local area codes as they think we are really thick enough to give them our bank or computer details.

Called at 02:50 this morning. I didn't get down in time to answer. I think this has sealed my decision on whether to continue to operate a landline in the future.

Voice told me I had a virus on my pc and he could get rid of it. I said "How dare you get rid of my virus, I love it. I've just bought it a new pink outfit and am taking it on holiday and I buy it birthday and Christmas presents. It is my friend and I don't want you to get rid of it". One very confused caller hung up in despair.
