Asked if I was the person who owned my number 8 years ago (before me), when I said no and asked to be removed from his database as I get these calls a lot. He said "Calm lady" and hung up, for once I was calm too! I would say definitely a scam.

The lady said my name was on their database and that I may be due money back from either a mortgage, finance or creditcard I may have taken out.
Objectively... She was also non invasive and sounded like she wanted to be helpful.

The polite man with a Middlesbrough accent said my name was on the database and that it was possible that I was due money back from finance or credit in the past 10 years.
Knowing that I have never had any insurance or anything connected to loans etc, I knew he was just fishing - so suggested this and he put the phone down.
How he got my number is a mystery
