   This is a research organisation that will be passed on your details when you use a service like Police, Fire, Local Authority or Social/Housing Associations. They get your number from one of these organisations. You can ask to delete your number and they do comply. If you don't want calls from this number, please be sure to inform the above associations you do not consent to your data being shared. They can be persistent and a nuisance if you don't answer and simply ask to delete your number.

   Declined to take part.

   Called, but wouldn't say what their company name was.
   
   Had my name wrong (surname as first name, middle name as surname)!
   
   Claimed to have been passed my number by a public sector - which one they wouldn't divulge.
   
   Reading through the above, however, and despite their reluctance to give information, I think it's a genuine call (reported a crime to the police, which was solved).
   
   Ironically, if they'd have said who they were and how they got my details, I'd have answered the questions.
   
   The issue is that I didn't consent for the police to pass on my number, but that isn't ORS fault, per se.

   The company is Opinion Research Services. They are passed details when you use a local authority / organisation such as police, fire, housing etc.

   Unsolicited call at 0921 disturbing my sleep, I work shift work !
   claiming to be conducting research, did not care that my number is EX directory or registered with TPS, we aren't bound by TPS as we are researching !
   Told caller to remove my details from system and any lists never to call again or circulate to any other party.
   Your web sight displays a level of arrogance that itself is unacceptable : "we are not covered by the tps so it's ok for us to make unsolicited calls'
   It is not ok to make unsolicited calls, ex directory is a clue that your contact is not wanted or welcome.
   A phone line registered with the TPS is further confirmation that 'unsolicited' contact is not welcome.
   To ignore those LARGE clues indicates a level of arrogance or ignorance that can only confirm your intent to cause harassment to your recipients.
   Apparently according to their website they are university based, not very intelligent to miss big clues EX directory + registered with TPS = dont want to hear from you !

   If you read the FAQ's, it seems they can use ex directory numbers, and are not covered by TPS. Why are we ex directory....because we do not want nuisance calls!!!!!!!!!

    I am ex-directory and registered with the TPS and still got a call from them. I will report them but it is frustrating to get these cold callers.

    Just called me. Said he was 'from' Oxfordshire County Council'. Not that he was calling for or on behalf of them. So misrepresented himself. I didn't continue the call, obviously.

    The issue I had was that you refused to say who you were (which is kind of implicitly threatening), or why you were calling (in any detail), or how you'd got my number. If you had, I'd have helped, rather than being stroppy with your lad Nathan!!

    Called saying they were doing a survay from the police. No doubt a nuisance call as they called on a number registered with the TPS, I doubt the police would do that

    This number called saying they were doing a poll for North Wales police. Soon as they asked for my postcode ,and I questioned it, apparently their systems went down,,,,, yeah! Right
