Woman phoned threatening legal action if something wasnt paid. Couldnt understand message. Then a foreign accdnt rang from same number a few minutes later. When i rang it message said this number is not recognised.

Returned number to complain about threatening message. Call finished with number being disconnected

My answerphone has stored the same message four times in the last two days. Unfortunately the recorded message starts as soon as contact is made but while my message asking to leave a call is playing. I therefore have no idea who it is from. By the time the answerphone kicks in I just get the last line about legal action if I do not ring 01865413305. She finishes with "take care". I note that the last call was from a different number 02031296608.

YES A SCAM CALL. APPARENTLY FROM HMRC BUT NOT.

Left a message explaining that I must call the number above immediately, that the matter is "time crucial" and failure will result in legal proceedings.
AntonyW replied 2017-05-17 17:47:34I had the same - clearly a scam, apparently HMRC have issued a lawsuit against me but i could settle this direct with them for a lower price..LOL -
Scare story about inland revenue and asks to call another number. Obvious scam
Guy replied 2017-05-16 15:02:37BT Call Protect dumps this into your 1572 box so its default blacklist protection is working. If you then play the message it's quite menacing but clearly a SCAM as they don't mention either your name or theirs. Evil. I was tempted to ring their return number but desisted.
