The caller said he was calling from the British Refund Department and was part of the export in the Ministry of Justice... told me I had a "loan of £5,000 roughly that I took in 2004 and repaid in 2008". At one stage he told me I had repaid too much and I was to get a refund; later he said something about PPI from this alleged loan. When I asked for his phone No he gave me 22 333 11 33!!!!!!

Every days for weeks these guys have called, mostly for my girlfriend, played along with them today, (joys of being in a lesbian relationship lol) they had her name, address, previous bank name as she is no longer with them, and knew about a loan, saying that the bank would send out a cheque once I had given them some details,repeatedly trying to get me to say yes, I knew about this loan, he was actually trying to script me what to say, getting very abusive when I repeatedly told him that my girlfriend is bankrupt therefor any and all PPI should there be aby would not be accountable.
Now calling my mobile, this is a pay as you go SIM around 6 month old, not sure how they got either number but they are rude, aggressive and persistent, surely there must be something someone an do?emma replied 11/18/14, 1:12 PMyes very rude, told action fraud just said to tell the telephone provider. i gave them the number 01913082643 from durham calling and they said could be anyone. they are trying it on all over the country to fool some innocent caller. i wish this stops they are very rush indeed! and what comes out there mouths comes out there ars too lol -

Four out of five nights last week, mentioning PPI refund, at about the same time, adressing me by my wife's surname (she kept her name after our marriage), so they obviously got our number from our phone provider, Virgin. We have both already told them we didn't need their 'help' (Monday & Tuesday) & asking them to stop - but they ignored that. I was abusive to their caller on Friday. We'll see what happens next week.

Had 10 calls from them, looking for someone else (got wrong number) and trying to sell me utility services. I told them stop calling 5 times which they ignored. When I told the man that on the phone today he told me f*** off lady!!!!!!!!!! I wish this number was shut down.

Just called me and without identifying me or the company launched into sales patter telling me about a personal loan I took out in 2005 (I didn't) and had paid 1700 too much on. I politely said that I was busy and didn't want to be phoned. The man then SHOUTED AT ME 'You're busy?! You're busy!' Fuck off!" That's really nice. I was just feeding a baby and looking after a sick child and really needed that.

Getting repeted calls upto three times a day all trying to tell me im entitled to ppi. Ive been patient, silent, rude but nothing seems to deter these people. Really think they should stop wasting their money on repeatedly calling the same number to get the same answer. Think next time I answer the phone ill answer it as department of internal fraud and see if that makes a difference. Im ex directory and am still puzzeled as to how they know my name.

we keep getting a couple of calls from this number every couple of days, wanting to speak to either me wife or myself. Usually sounds like an Indian fella who can't pronuonce our surname so we tell him wrong number and send him on his way, it's getting really annoying now.

Just had a phone call saying I took a loan out in 2005. Wanted to know my bank details so that they could send me a cheque for ppi. A complete con. He became aggressive when I said no. He knew name and address despite being ex-directory.

Told them it sounded odd and if they give me a number I'll check it out and get back to them and they put the phone down. Second time I was told to lie about a loan I had not taken out to a different department. They knew my name and address. Not happy.

Explain each time they have the wrong number, and I get hurled abuse, trying to force my name and address out of me and then more recently threatening to come to my house and stab me or report me to the police because I have a knife....

Been phoned 3 times from this number telling me about a loan a took out with loyds tsb (which I have never banked with). I asked them how they got my number and they hung up! The 2nd time I told them to not ring me again and remove me off their call list and again they hung up. Just had another call off them where I told them under no uncertain terms to to never ring my number again I and I hung up!! We will see if I get another but if I do I feel sorry for the Indian man on the other end, very angry now!!!

Phoned me yesterday asking for address stupidly gave it to them then asking for what it's for when they said ppi I informed them I've never had a loan. Then phoned asking for my 12 year old daughter gave no info on this occasion been harassed by this number for weeks it's disgusting they are allowed to get away with this,should be made highly illegal

Got yet another call today and three yesterday with the above number saying I took a loan out with Halifax in 2004 and paid it back 2008 saying they were PPI and I had money coming back to me..they were Indian . Sick of these calls all the time, they're so persistent.

Caller of Indian /Pakistani /Bangladeshi etc accent
Called to say i was due a refund on poi for a credit agreement amount of 2000 that I took out in 2007 and paid off by 2009...
I asked which bank and he said hsb a credit partner of HSBC
I asked what the loan was for.. No reply, just that I had had this loan.
I told him to send me proof and I will contact the bank in question direct
He hung up
I rang HSBC and asked them.to do a search for me under my maiden name and the address I was at in 2007 and no files found (was concerned identity theft may of occurred)
Bloody dodgy call. -

Asian man &lady pretending to be from different departments calling concerning a loan from Lloyd's/tsb in 2003. Very persistent. Got very angry when it was queried as we've never had any loan from Lloyd's.Refused to give a telephone number for us to call back- hung up on being challenged that it was a fraud call.

Called today said it was about a loan i had taken out and i was owed some money. Said that they had checked through my records and were going to send out details in the post but needed me to confirm which bank i had taken a loan out with for verification. I said they should already have the details of the bank if they were going through my records. He then stated that the loan was with Lloyds TSB.
When i told him i hadn't taken a loan out with Lloyds he asked which bank was it then and when i said i hadn't taken out a loan he asked why i was lying. I told him i wasn't lying and didn't like being called a liar and put the phone down -

on July 23rd this number phoned me.
they wanted to help me get money back from a Lloyds TSB loan...i said i'd never done anything with them...they said the loan was taken out with Lloyds TSB in 2006...i once again said i'd never done anything with Lloyds TSB...before i could say anything else the man said he'll check his computer to see if it was a different bank...within less than a minute he said it was a short-term loan takin out in 2006 for a car with either Lloyds TSB or Natwest or Nationwide...i then got my chance to explain not only had i never had anything with any of those companies, i've also not taken out a loan for a car because i've never had a car due to never learning to drive!
the man than said it must be a mistake...then hung up!

Unlike the preceding reports of nuisance calling, someone from this number just tried on a criminal scam with me, which I quickly recognised from a prior attempt a couple of years ago: Offer of a "refund" of £2000 compensantion of a Barclays loan mis-selling - all nonsense, as I havent had any kind of loan in years. The scam is that you will get £2000 couriered to you, but you have to write some kind of money order to make it all happen - I didnt give them time to give all the details, as I soon recognised which way the scam was going. Told them I knew it was a criminal scam they were attempting, and would report to the police if they called again. Hung up, but they were still on the line when i picked it up again - twice. Creepy. Reported to Action Fraud on: 03001232040, who said the scam was still common. The number is "Durham", but told by Virgin that foreign pests often hide behind an inland number. Sounded like an African woman to me, but could be wrong.

Someone from this number called our house number. My daughter answered and was told they were working on behalf of Barclays Bank PPI claims. He told my daughter to get a pen and paper and when my daughter replied with 'oh no, we are fine thanks' he then said 'a***hole f** off. Shocked, my daughter asked what he had said he repeated himself! He then said again to get a pen and paper and when she again told him 'No thank you, we are fine' he then said ''Suck my c***' My daughter then put the phone on loudspeaker so that my son-in-law (who happens to be a policeman) could hear. The person on the phone again repeated himself, which my son-in-law confirmed. When my daughter shouted 'did you hear what he just said to me?' the caller put the phone down. I've tried calling the number back but you just get a message saying the person is not available.
mumof3 replied 9/5/14, 7:35 PMI had it today and when I told them I've never had a loan he said " I'll f**k you" shocked I hit record on my phone and he repeated it several times. Virgin media can't block the number unless the police ring them to request it apparently.
