Apparently at 8pm yesterday (18th August) a man called Peter Jones tried to access my computer.
I played along with the lady (sounded Indian / Pakistani) when she asked me to type www.teamviewer.com into my web browser. When she asked what I could see I told her 'lots of suggestions that you are trying to scam me. Goodbye!' and hung up.

Exactly the same call as all previous comments.....only I seem to get them at least once a week! Since I know they are a scam I play along making out I have an Apple mac and usually when I tell the person ( always seems to be a male with an indian/sri lankan sounding accent whose goes by an english name e.g. Mike, John, Peter etc.) that they are scammers the person gets aggressive and tries to talk over me! As this is one of my personal bug bears, At this point I usually start singing "scam, scam, scam, scam......."continuously down the phone until they get frustrated and hang up!!!!!! Note for self - maybe they like my song soooooo much thats why they keep calling!!!!!! lol

Well i received a call from this number which claimed to be Microsoft, tech support, they said someone in Texas had accessed my computer last night. i have had plenty of these calls before, with me finishing with them after telling them they are scammers and that i was going to report them. the story goes, i received a call from them i said hello, twice then a woman answered claiming to be from Microsoft, she said that somebody in Texas accessed my computer last night, bear in mind i have a apple macbook pro, so i play with it, she tells me to access the start menu settings by right clicking then, system report, for that i went onto google images, and after a few more pages of images she said that i should see the last known date of pc access which was 8th august 2016 (which claimed to be last night) but today it was the 12th august 2016, (cant even tell the date). well from that i said after find the suitable picture, i said the most recent date of access was 06/05/2011, she claimed that i had mixed the files up,.
From this i confronted them on the phone bare in mind i recorded the full thing using my smartphone camera, i said and i quote " look i know you scammers and claiming your from Microsoft, and i can clearly say that Microsoft don't call customers about pc issues like this , hell they don't call at all, look i've got your phone number and you location record, and i have recorded this call to be passed onto the police and uk fraud team, and listen" this is where i was interrupted by the woman sand saying no you listen we are not from Microsoft, then she hung up.

Received a call at 9am and immediately told them I was on the telephone preference service, that they shouldn't be calling and then I put the phone down. Within seconds the phone range again and the caller said that it wasn't an unsolicited call, that I should put the phone down as he was trying to help me. I allowed him to continue and he then said that my computer had been corrupted and he would help me resolve the issue and I should go to my computer. Recocognising this as a scam, I told him that if he contacted me again I would call the police. He did not call back!

The 'microsoft engineer' guy. Surely the police can identify who is behind this and arrest them for fraud? Do not under any circumstances believe him/her or do as they say. They will wreck your computer and take money off you for the 'cure'. Blocked number now

Got a call from a guy who said he was calling from online support technologies on behalf of Microsoft because they had identified errors on my computer. When I said I'd googled his company and couldn't find it he claimed that he was part of Online Support Ltd. Later in the call he said he was called Chris Gardner. He claimed he knew the clsid of my computer and tried to talk me through getting the clsid so that he could get it from me. He said it would cost £490 to fix the errors on my computer. I said my computer was fine, but he tried to keep insisting he should show me the errors. Eventually he realised that I wasn't buying his story and he hung up.

Told me that I had a problem with my computer. I said that I had not reported any problem but they said the problem is automatically reported. Note this is a scam as they want to take over your computer and load a virus for which you will have to pay them to rectify, supposedly.
Company name was "on-line support" and they claimed they were based in Hanover Square , London. Company under that name is based in Bradford. -

These people should be stopped. The callers are just either idiots or poor people recruited by some ruthless and un-decent scammers who exploit them or promise them easy money... how far am I from the truth? Government is doing nothing or very little to prevent these people to waste our time as tax payers and/or pensioners/retired decent people who deserve a bit more respect or privacy or quiet time :)

This is the third call I have received. Caller said she was Windows Online Support. Tried to take control of my computer. I pretended to go along with her requests and kept her talking for 10 minutes before she eventually ended the call.

Just been called by this number to inform me my emails are being used by someone in the usa and if I follow his instructions through my computer we can solve this together. Bloody nice chap! However I do know that once connected to your computer they can lock you out unless you make payments to them. SCAM me thinks. They obviously thought I came down the river on a water lilly this morning. BE WARNED DO NOT allow them access to your computers/pcs etc. If you see this number on your phone ignore it which upsets the little darlings. Laws needed to stop this. M
Kay replied 8/19/16, 1:12 PMI often tell them to hang on a minute while I get the computer owner. Then leave the phone on its own until they hang up.

Very aggressive foreign caller told me a woman in Mexico was trying to access my computer and it would be disconnected for about 25 days. First he said he was Windows security and when I said all our devices were Apple he said he was calling from Apple security. I asked to speak to his supervisor, who was English, but finally I hung up. Much more aggressive than any other cold call I e had.

It seems that many numbers are bought in this 01932 area. As aggressive telemarketing, fraud, etc. calls are made from number with such prefix. it should be easier for law enforcement agents to find who is behind that annoying and illegal(?) calls. Why there is no intervention from authorities and as we live in an almost nanny state, why the nannies do not do a useful nanny's job rather than just pass rules like "children cannot play in the school courtyard when it is snowed"?

Have received 21 calls from this number since 21 July (1 month ago). I can't be bothered to even answer it now. The name of the company they profess to be is usually either Microsoft or Windows Support.
DON'T TRUST THEM, IT'S A SCAM.
