    Went dead as soon as I answered but this sounds like the same thing as reported on the media with Indian (or Indian subcontinent) scammers pretending to be from spoofing the number of an innocent guy in Wigan who has nothing to do with it.

    Keps calling our landline - mostly hangs up, but said they were from BT when my wife took one call (we're not with BT!)

    caller wanted to confirm my post code and quoted my old postcode. I said "if you work for BT, you'd know my correct postcode" She said she would check and call back, then hung up.

    Pretended to be BT Accounts. As soon as I said I didn't believe they were BT Accounts they hung up

    Wanted to give me a discount as I was a loyal customer. Then tried to get my bank details and debit card number to check that I was the correct customer. When I put the phone down a supervisor called me back and asked the same questions, when I said that they should know I didn't pay my bills by debit card and that I thought the call was a scam he cut the call.

    This caller pretends to be from BT accounts department offering a refund on your account. When I challenged them and told them that the number is most definitely not BT accounts they hung up. Do not give them any information- hang up immediately
