Annette Butterworth reported Digital Mail and Big Lotto with the number ‎02030007658 as Harassment calls

Some legitimate business the Big Lotto is!!!! When you ring this telephone back, you get a fake message stating this telephone number is no longer in service. Digital Mail likes to use the message "this number is for sale" and tries to get you ring their rip off by ringing their 0870 number. That means this number is truly active with this fake message that bypasses Big Lotto's legal obligation to remove your number from their system, how legit is this impression is Big Lotto making on us. If this company was legit, then why not use the main telephone 020 3000 7642 instead of 020 3000 7658, which leads anyone receiving these calls a dead end option to get rid of these cold calling scammers. I would contact Digital Mail on 020 7060 2000, just for them to tell their client Big Lotto stop harassing you once and for all, even if this lottery is legit. Big Lotto is still cold calling us on services we do not want. Maybe we should report them to the ICO for harassment and their telephone number is 0303 123 1113, please report them as this could stop them. I think anyone who gets these telephone calls regularly from 020 3000 7658 should to report them to the ICO.

It is 020 3000 7642 not 0203 000 7642, Big Lotto must be a South African based Lottery Scam Syndicate, pretending to be in London?

Big Lotto is not a registered with Companies House?, otherwise it would be Big Lotto Limited, and what is the company number for Big Lotto! If Big Lotto was legitimate lottery syndicate, information such as company registration number, place of registration, and registered office address should have been listed on biglotto.co.uk? This information is not an option, it is an requirement of all legitimate UK Limited companies to abide by!!!!

The Consumer Credit Act gives you a 14-day cooling-off period to cancel any business agreement, including lottery syndicates!!!!!

If you entered into the any contract over the phone, ONLINE or on your doorstep, you have 14 calendar days to cancel the contract under the Consumer Contracts Regulations.

The part where your membership will begin when they receive your first membership fee and you will not be entered into a Syndicate until expiry of the 14 day cancellation period, which is in the biglotto.co.uk terms and conditions.

Which legally for Big Lotto to comply with Consumer Credit Act, the actually cooling-off period starts the day after entered into your first lottery, which technically 15 days after your first payment to Big Lotto!!!!

Big Lotto is non compliance to the Consumer Credit Act, just by delaying entry into the Lottery syndicate by 14 days, which allows Big Lotto to by pass it's legal requirement of 14 days cooling off period for all contacts in England and Wales.

In conclusion, the minimum membership cool off period, which you cannot cancel your membership with Big Lotto is actually (3 months and 14 days from your first payment to Big Lotto), which is non compliant to the Consumer Contracts Regulations in the Consumer Credit Act.

Besides, a Syndicate offers up to 150 members, divided into 75 tickets per draw now that's a half a lottery ticket. Most foreigners, who call on behalf of Big Lotto, use a telephone number that is for sale by Digital Mail and not active. Therefore, Big Lotto is a scam, not legitimate syndicate as claimed by Big Lotto!!!
    cthonus replied 8/16/16, 3:09 AM
Big Lotto is giving an illusion that this number inactive. Just by coping the recorded message of Digital Mail's this number is for sale message and placing in away that makes this telephone number seem inactive.

Which means this number 020 3000 7658 is truly active, and with this fake message that number is for sale, which bypasses Big Lotto's legal obligation to remove your number from their system as it looks like this number is not active.

Big Lotto using this fake for sale message on this telephone number, gives the useless staff at Digital Mail, the excuse to tell anyone that all calls from this telephone number are not originating from Digital Mail's VOIP phone network. This is truly an elaborate scam!!!!

Jason Finch reported Digital Mail Ltd with the number ‎02030007658 as Harassment calls

    12/6/15, 9:22 PM

Big Lotto called me after they claimed that I have entered a competition to win 10 lottery tickets which I knew was a scam competition right away. I thought they should not be calling me in the first place, which is cold calling to the extreme. This call was claiming I had qualified to win 10 free Euro millions tickets in the lottery, which I believe they got my number from a random computer generated phone dialler and this is the reason why I got this cold call about the lotto in the first place. I believe Big Lotto was trying to trick with this cold call to join their lottery syndicate by pretending I won lottery tickets, to be entered in a draw without my consent. The subscription has no value other than wasting your time and money versus playing by yourself. Which I have learned to be untrue, as these free tickets are only available with purchase of expensive subscription to a lottery syndicate, so they are not free but misleading from their website and cold calling staff. Besides these 10 free Euro millions tickets you might have won with Big Lotto, may not be legit, after all how did I win these tickets if I never entered a draw or competition. Even if I won the main Euro millions prize how could I claim it, if I am not in possession of the ticket. This is an alright scam, and Big Lotto main telephone number is 020 3000 7642, which is operated by Digital Mail a worthless telecoms provider based in London. The two numbers Big Lotto uses to make the cold calls from is 020 3000 7659 and 020 3000 7658. Although Digital Mail may not be making these calls about the free lottery tickets, they are still profiting from their clients (Big Lotto) and making our lives a misery. Please consider (politely) sharing the pain back with them: t: 020 7060 2000

    Nicoke replied 6/16/16, 12:50 PM
Hi they rang me today and wouldn't stop after me saying I didn't want the free tickets and to enter the promotion scam but then they wore telling me it's a win win situation and I then said ok to pay as it was small amount to pay but I have not received my tickets nor have they got in touch with me ? Do you know what I should do

Big Lotto is not registered with Companies House, therefore Big Lotto is not a legitimate company. Just search their records and no record such record can be found on the companies house records for Big Lotto.

Unless Big Lotto is actually part of Big150 Group Limited. Which your legal obligations is to place on biglotto.co.uk, Big Lotto is a trading name of Big150 Group Limited. This requirement is not an option, if Big Lotto is actually Big150 Group Limited!!!!

    The telephone format is 020 3000 7642, not 0203 000 7642!!!!!!

Spencer reported Digital Mail Ltd with the number ‎02030007658 as Sweepstakes, lottery

    12/16/15, 11:43 AM

This is some sort of phishing scam, where these questionable ppl called my mum 12 times. Started asking questions about how often she plays the lottery, asked if she's ever won anything etc. When she said no they said her luck was about to change and asked her who she banked with. Took over the phone at that point and questioned why they were asking for her bank details. Stated I knew this was clearly a scam and to stop calling. She became very defensive and irate, started shouting about how it's not a scam at which point I hung up. Do not entertain any calls from this number, and these crooks use Digital Mail's services to make the calls to us.
The other telephone numbers they use is 020 3000 7658, 020 3000 7659, 020 7060 5530, and if you ring these telephone numbers back, they are all pretending to be falsely disconnected engaged or just plainly disconnect the call on you!!!! Despite their main lottery number is 020 3000 7642, which could have been used if this company is legit as Daryl their customer service manager claims. I suspect that this company could have hired a foreign call centre similar to the same scam that I am getting from Digital Mail's clients on their 0161 939 Manchester number. Big Lotto is a alright scam, and the company could be based outside the UK as their is no official address on their website as legitimate limited companies list their trading address for the company, registered company address along with their company limited number which I do not see anywhere on biglotto.co.uk!!!!!!

Trading standards regulations make it a a compulsory requirement for all websites operating for business use in the United Kingdom, must provide a physical address on their where the website of where they can be contacted at.

All legitimate limited companies must display their company number as well. Otherwise you may be considered a sole trader, not a legitimate UK limited company without this information.

The point of the scam is to find gullible people who will believe what they say. They are crooks who once they find a victim will ask them for personal details and /or credit card/bank details "So we can commit identity fraud or empty your bank account". Obviously you were the ones they were looking for for them to steal your hard earned money from. This company called Digital Mail Ltd needs to be stopped, can't someone do something about these calls? This company can't do anything, other than claim the calls is not originating from them and what law is to protect us from this idiocy. I get several of these calls every day, the automated calls go on after I put the phone down. I can't dial out, people can't reach me until they put the phone down. It is damaging my business, yet they can keep calling without any sort of penalty? I don't understand why a law can't come in where companies like Digital Mail are barred from spoofing UK landlines to dupe you into thinking these are calling from within our country as mentioned on http://notes.dmclub.net/1094 how to spoof dmClub numbers (this is Digital Mail Ltd brand name) from anywhere in the world on any telephone number. The company directors should be fined and disqualfied from opearting as a UK Telecoms company, as they are pretending the calls are not coming from them. This company is making such a huge profit at our expenses, the same scammers have been using their telephone numbers for over 3 years now, yet the company has been aware of the problem and does not want to take action and yet this sorted out as their main priority of having a clean proper telephone network like BT, or I would not cringe every time a 020 3000 number calls my business line.
    cthonus replied 12/6/15, 11:38 PM
0161 939 is a telephone number their clients use for PPI scam, now they got lottery scammers using their 020 3000 range, Digital Mail would soon be a MULTI RICH COMPANY!!!!

If Biglotto is a legitimate business based in the UK and registered with Companies House.

Then the company should have listed its company registration number, place of registration, and registered office address on its website as a The information, which must be in legible characters, should also appear on order forms and in emails. Such information is already required since 1985 on "business letters" but the duty is being extended to websites as 2007, order forms and electronic documents.

The name, geographic address and email address of the service provider. The name of the organisation with which the customer is contracting must be given. This might differ from the trading name. Any such difference should be explained – e.g. "XYZ.com is the trading name of XYZ Enterprises Limited."

This is complusary requirment for any limited company to list the following information above on the website, for more information please visit
    http://www2.eastriding.gov.uk/business/trading-standards/fair-trading/companies-and-business-names/

After all legitimate companies trading in the UK must list this information, which Big Lotto must not be!!!!

The only information I see on www.biglotto.co.uk website is an email address and telephone number which should be formatted 020 3000 7642 not 0203 000 7642 which Big Lotto is Digital Mail's active client.
John Poldark replied 12/16/15, 4:20 PM
After complete diligence search on the company Big Lotto at Companies House, I could not find any information claiming this company is registered with them.

I found this at Nominet, the domain register for .co.uk domain names.

    Domain name:
    biglotto.co.uk

    Registrant:
    Big Lotto Group

    Registrant type:
    Unknown

    Registrant's address:
    312 Cotton Exchange Building
    Old Hall Street
    Liverpool
    Merseyside
    L3 9LQ
    United Kingdom

There is no record of Big Lotto with companies house!!!!

I then tried Big Lotto Group with companies house, once again no such register

Daryl is telling us more big fat porkies that they are a legitimate UK limited company.

This is another trick of Digital Mail's clients pretending to be legitimate UK company.

    To All Big Lotto members,

This lottery syndicate is a scam and you will lose every time you play. All existing members should call ring bank just like like a stolen bank card and im not sure if you should definitely should ring the police. YOU SHOULD NEVER GIVE BANK DETAILS OVER THE PHONE.

These foreign speaking guys from that number, have been using a Digital Mail telephone number, just to make you think it is is a London number.

I argued straight away that this is a scam and I NEVER enter such details for shopping vouchers and he became quite aggressive. I told him I would report him to the police and Digital Mail for harassment and I wanted them to stop calling me and take me off of their system to which he didn't want to do, which I could hear the aggregation in his voice when i sussed him out. The customer service mentioned above is 0203 000 7642, another Digital Mail number. Anyone who continues to get harassed by this group, please phone 020 7060 2000 and let Digital Mail be aware of what their clients have been up to.
