Dot reported Telephone Preference Network with the number 02030191569 as Aggressive advertising
The Indian caller said he was from the Telephone Preference Network. Then asked if I was still receiving unwanted calls. I started laughing, since it was actually hilarious. He got really annoyed, told me to stop laughing, then said "Madam, F*** off!" I've blocked them and reported them to the real TPS.

M. Allen reported unknown with the number 02030191569 as Harassment calls
This number has been calling several times a day for past couple of days. I answered it today meaning to give the caller a piece of my mind. When told she was from TPS I was more reassured so cooperatied with the questions. She knew my name, address, and some details of my debit card. Then asked me to give her my security number which I refused. She persisted so I hung up! Should I cancel my card?

PSJ reported number 02030191569 as Not known
LAdy pretending to be from telephone preference service, gives you your name, address and postcode. Then says preference service rewuires you to renew your membership giving the existing Debit card details. Then asks for the details - I refused. At this point line went dead.

Andrea Morley reported number +442030191569 as unknown
The very Indian sounding man asking God the expiry date on my debit card, I asked why I thought the service I received for blocking nuisance calls was free. I then said to him is this a scam and he was most offended and I told him I had to finish the call. What a piss take bloody cheek!!
Stuart replied 7/2/16, 10:00 AMI had the same today. They ring back if you hang up on them!! Just keep telling them its a scam or better still, if you pick up the phone and don't speak, their equipment doesn't recognise that the call has connected so they never speak to you. They do ring 10 times a day though!! -

Defender Vistaman reported number 02030191569 as Telephone Preference Serice Management Service
Rang four times in as many days, did not leave msg on ansa m/c. 5th time, I picked up 06MAY16, 16h19. Strong Asian-sounding female voice, "Jenny". Asked if I was [gave indistinct name, not mine]. I started to ask about her/purpose of call and she hung up.
I rang the number twice - one dialled; once 1471 ringback - in both cases the number was not recognised. This call 06MAY16 at 16h19. -

DONT be an idiot and do not ever ring numbers back if you dont know the person. Most phone scams that take your money through costing you high phone bills from you calling these numbers back. They get you to call the number by back by ending call instantly and getting your curiosity (you nosey gets) learn to not be nosey or you deserve all you get scammed.
Vistaman replied 5/18/16, 2:26 PMYep - fair point. Not thinking properly.
Cheers

Hateboguscalls reported number 02030191569 as Telephone preference service
Very Asian accent, said she was calling from the telephone preference service then proceeded to get me to confirm my name, address, that I paid my bill by dd then to update when my credit card expired! At that point I knew I was being scammed! Scarily she knew all this information already except for the expiry date.Told her she had no need to know this as telephone preference service is a free service, at which she put the phone down! BEWARE A SCAM.
At first I was called by 02030191569 and no one answered. So I rang 1417 and dialled the number back. Then about 5mins later I get the call from someone in India asking about my expiry call barard service has expired and I should update it to block calls etc etc. It would cost £19. I AM SICK TO DEATH of these con on UK people. WHY on earth is the British Government allowing this shit to happen to our people. We give millions of pounds to overseas support etc and yet we get bombarded by them to trick us! WHY DOES OUR COUNTY ALLOW THIS???
There may be legitimate reasons for hiding numbers but their use needs to be much more tightly regulated.
However, BT makes money out of this so I don't expect any progress.
CHALLENGE EVERYONE WHO RINGS YOUR NUMBER! They should not be allowed to get away with this.
They then switched to 002030191569
Both now are specifically blocked
They have now tried prefixing with "International when they call" May be that all "international", "withheld" and "unavailable" numbers in the last 24 hours are from these clowns - total (so far) of 13 calls. Persistent aren't they. I hope they get frustrated.
My advice is to get a phone that can block specific numbers - I use a BT handset that offers this protection.
