Silent call. Getting almost daily, number obtained from 1471. I am a Virgin customer, also TP registered, so it isn't just BT folk who get these. Fed up with 'Your computer has a virus' types of calls now.. Need a new challenge to ignore stupid foreign callers!
-
6 times they have called today.Silent on answering. Sick of pest calls
-
Yes it was you who. Is calling everyone. So stop it.

This was actually a phishing call telling me that my computer was downloading malicious information. He informed me their head office was in California.
I let the guy talk through his script, then told him I was a legal technology specialist (which I am), to "stop wasting my time, and fuck off!".
Apologies for my language (which I don't use often) but I think these shysters need bringing down to earth in language which they might just understand. -
Allegedly "Maddi" calling from windows Technical Dept.
-
this no has been calling several times every day-- they have not even the decency to speak, i am seroiusly considering reporting this no. to the police!!

I've had multiple telephone calls from this number going on for about 2 months now. I can get up to 8 a day. Just last night they called me at 2am, I of course woke up grumpy and answered the phone. The man with a heavy indian accent said he was calling about my computer because I have a virus, I told him to f-off as you would at 2 in the morning to someone who has been calling you non-stop for 2 months and hung up. He then called me back at 3am calling me a mother f**ker, stupid bi**h etc so I hung up again, went back to sleep. He then proceeded to call again at 3:30am this time all I got was him saying WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY STUPID MOTHER F***ER. I've had numerous reasons for them calling, they want to sell me ppi, pretending to be bt, wanting to sell me insurance, saying my internet needs to be renewed.

I have been called by this number on several occasions. When I answer, they hang up

Multiple calls now. Claiming to be doing a survey for Choice UK 'in our area', or it's a silent call. Have contacted ICO, TPS and ofcom - not holding my breath.
-
They are very persistent and stupid because every time they ring, twice a day some days, I get the same story that I have a virus on my computer, and its only until I eventually tell them that we only use linux and apple macs that I get verbal abuse and the phone slammed down.
-
A Asian man rang and I thought he said he was from BT services, obviously trying to find information about us, he was asking what broadband we had. When I asked him what company he was with again, he hung up.
-

Me: "err"

Me: "Urmm, who is this?"

...
Then I hung up. -

I have had 6 calls this morning. have a code with my daughter so I know its her. what a waste of time they are!!!!!!!
-
Call from a woman with a very Asian accent saying her name was Jenn- i- fer Will- i- ams, - clearly reading the name out and not able to pronounce it properly. Said she was calling about my computer and was that OK? I said no it wasnt and hung up.
-
I had a "man" ring and say "I'm ringing from your computer". Having just woke up, I said "about my computer?" He said "no, from your computer", my answer? "Oh my computer is very clever if it's managed to speak, can it also make me a coffee"? That result in a huffing sound and some words in a foreign language and the phone being slammed down!!! Lol
-
This phone number keeps ringing us and as soon as you say hello they put it down. What the f is that all about? The last time we managed to get someone to answer they were ringing about an accident I'd had 2 years ago. Must have got amnesia because I don't remember having an accident 2 years ago and they got quite rude when I told them that.
Ages ago they rang and said "Can you turn your computer on, you have a virus". First of all I don't have a computer (well didn't at the time) and secondly if they knew I had a computer they would know if I was online or not! Pathetic idiots with nothing better to do.
My Mum also has Lifestyle Surveys harass her constantly. When she told the lady to stop ringing her, the "lady" said "I'll keep ringing until you answer my questions". Very professional, isn't it! -
These "people" can't stop harassing us. One day they rang and my computer had gone in for its yearly MOT (it's getting on a bit but still works so can't complain) and I truthfully said "I don't have a computer" (well I didn't, did I? :) ) so the "man" on the other end called me a silly b---h" and slammed the phone down. 2 days later a "woman" rang and mentioned the phone call I had had before (she even mentioned the day), so I said "Oh well while you're on here and before you say anything else, please put me through to your complaints department". Yet again the phone was slammed down on me! What a complete and utter bunch of "a-holes" they are. My Dad got one the other week (I moved out years ago) and when he said "He didn't have a computer" (he doesn't, if he needs anything on the net, he'll ring me) the man called him a stupid idiot and slammed the phone down. Now looking into blocking that number. Can't unfortunately ignore "withheld" ones because sis lives in Spain so her number doesn't show up (can't not answer her calls). Oh and we aren't with BT/there's nothing wrong with the computer (I have a husband that looks at it monthly for me).

Asked for Company Registration number, full address of company and telephone number. Asian man who called refused to give me this information - said he couldn't because of Data Protection. I said only applies to personal details not company details. He got aggressive and then hung up after I said that I was in my rights to find out this information!
-
my elderly mother in law has been receiving calls from this number...very untrustworthy.
-
Scamming dude from India. Trying to tell me I was surfing unsafe sites. Told him I didn't have a computer and he hung up. Wa**er!
-
Called regarding a number of problems being logged on my computer. I questioned how they acquired this information but they wouldn't respond so I hung up. We receive missed calls from this number on a regular basis.

Lorien is a recruiter firm - the worst on my list of fools who can't speak their own mother tongue. They seem mystified by outgoing messages. I was away to get back to their bluuurghbling 'hello, hello...' I'd recommend a dentist clears up their teeth -

have been receiving silent phone calls from this number everyday for a over a week now! when someone actually spoke to me asking about my computer I said how it was very odd and then said because I don't have a computer or laptop, they have not rung back since. TRY THIS!
-
From the accent I assumed an Asian caller claiming my computer had been reported as running slow. Informed him he was wrong; that my number was registered with TPS and he should remove my number from his database and not, under any circumstances, to call again. REALLY ANNOYING FRAUDSTER.
-
Continually getting calls from this number and if we answer at all, then it is just hung up from other end

THIS IS A CALL FROM AN INDIAN LADY SAYIG SHE WAS FROM MICROSOFT AND THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH MY COMPUTER. I TOLD HER THAT THIS WAS IMPOSSIBLE AS MY COMPUTER WAS BRAND NEW. SHE PUT THE PHONE DOWN ON ME BUT THEY HAVE PHONED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE. HAVE INVESTED IN A CALL BLOCKER FOR UNIDENTIFIED PHONE CALLS.

I've had this number ring me constantly for several weeks now. Each time I refused point blank to switch my computer on and they hung up in the end - they even have the audacity to argue they're from Microsoft. When they rang today I asked which computer it was and they informed me they have my computer details, Windows licence details and my contact information. I asked for my computer make and model, got some shoddy reply and then asked for my name and e-mail address - to which they hung up. I'm willing to try anything in future just to wind them up. I might even get offensive/abusive. Be aware that they ring from an international number (001) which is USA and the number apparently refers to Texas. I was going to complain to BT but from reading reviews there doesn't seem much point.
-
This number is a scam - they want to access your computer and either state they are from BT or Microsoft Windows - block them on your landline via BT if possible and report all calls to your Local Authority Trading Standards - also worth registering with Telephone Preference Service - however, TPS said they could not do anything about this number as BT claim it is not a legitimate number. They are not calling from London as the number suggests but from Asia - possibly China and India. I understand from speaking with my LA Trading Standards that some data was stolen from BT by a rouge employee in India. I am wondering what kind of compensation BT are willing to offer for this breach of security and inconvenience to its paying out of the nose customers!

received a silent call on my landline and my mobile. Attempts to call back resulted in a call failed message. Have blocked on my mobile but unfortunately don't have this facility on my landline
-
Just had a variation on the theme.... this time the question was "do you get a lot of silent or marketing calls, and would you want them to stop!"
Could this bunch of bandits now be carrying out a quality audit on their own scamming?? lol!! :) -
A young Asian male called - "its to do with the person who has had an accident at this address within the last 3 years" - I responded that there were 25 elderly residents living here are present - so I would need him to give me a name. He couldn't tell me who he wanted to speak to, and got very frustrated - an absolute hoot as I live on my own!
-
Called several times today. Silent. Hung up when I said what I would do to their ...
-
Up to 6 times a day, silent call obviously a computer dialing program and the operators don't pick up in time.
I reckon BT is behind it as with so many complaints they would have stop it if they wanted to. But they do nothing. -
Total silence when answered.
Daytime/evening all the same. Numerous calls per day
