They've rung several times recently. You pick up the phone and either they ring off immediately or there's a pause and then a woman's recorded voice says "GoodBYE" in a contemptuous tone of voice. A cursed nuisance.

Persons that are possibly indian keep phoning at silly hours always asking for a Mr..... when I answer the phone. I get angry when they cannot even be bothered to pronounce my name correctly. If it was a legitimate call I would expect them to speak better english than a toilet brush. Or maybe I am wanting too much from these idiots.

Had a call at 8am this morning claiming to be from BT Technical department. They said I had red alerts on my broadband and hackers had accessed my computer. Told them I would call BT myself later on. I did and was told it was a scam.

Apparently my broadband service is going to be terminated this morning becaushe bad people are downloading things onto my computer without my knowledge. When I said I did not have a computer he asked if I was V W Hancock. I said 'no' and he apologised and terminated the call. -

I get about 3 or 4 calls on average from this number/one like it every day, sometimes up to 8 calls. They've told me to "fuck off" before when I've challenged them, but yet they keep ringing back?? I'm registered for TPS but they don't care, if I try and tell them to take the number off their list they just hang up, and then ring back later, and if I answer they hang up immediately - obviously trying their luck to see if someone else answers. They usually ask "Am I talking to Mr (my surname)?" even though I'm *clearly* a woman in her twenties, and hang up when I tell them how offensive that is!!
They have tried the old "We're Microsoft, your computer is broken" routine in the past, to which I reply "Comp-u-ter? What's that? MARGARET, HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF A COMP-U-TER?!" and they hang up..... -

Called and told me that they were from BT and when I logged on that criminals had access to all my passcodes. Told the caller (Indian Lady) that she had called the online fraud department at Devon and Cornwall police and they hung up instantly.

Indian accent from a call centre judging by background noise. Said she was from BT and I had a very nasty virus on my computer that they would help me remove. Told her I wasn't even with BT but she bullshi**ted me about how traffic was passing through BT Servers to all customers of every telecom company like talk talk, Virgin etc. and that's how they knew. Wouldn't tell me her name, phone number or address or EVEN what country she was in got so confused by my responses she was almost begging me to switch computer on and actually said she was a scam then corrected herself. Ha ha. Feel sorry for those vulnerable people they will no doubt bleed money from for nothing. Given how long this number is being used, clearly the authorities are not doing anything about it!

I said I cant see out of windows on a computer I'm looking out the window she soon hung up. That's another blocked call on my call blocker. It best to keep them talking and wind them up. -

A horrible little creepy foreign man, said insurance company Aviva gave my details of an accident I had, so rude and persistent despite my politeness and refusal to engage, I had to hang up, still ringing continually on a daily basis. So creepy

Second time this week have had a call saying that they had had a report of a car accident at this address in the last three years, heavily accented voice. This time I asked for her name and said I was thinking of reporting her to police for spreading false reports of accidents. The name is probably false, but had to say something. Why is this number still operational when there are so many reports here? Does Offcom actually do anything? Can they be sued? Telephone preferences do not work.

Most people who have reported here that they have been called by this number have been told that it is Microsoft Windows about PC problems. A woman with a very foreign accent called me claiming to be Accident Compensation UK Ltd so obviously a scam as Microsoft don't do accident claims. I pretended to be a bit old and deaf to get the details of who they claimed to be. I'm with the Telephone Preference Service, so I asked if she knew she was committing a criminal offence. She hung up immediately.

My mum answered the phone they claimed to be Microsoft Window Experts.
my mum didn't trust them at all and challenged them as soon as she did they put the phone down. Afterwards though our phone wouldn't work properly when we tried to dial 1471, we are uncomfortable using the phone at all now, do you think its safe?

Bullies that will pray on people lack of knowledge. I have received numerous call from these people and have even been threatened with legal action if I need not allow them to repair my computer. This company needs to be stopped in my opinion.

Received several "silent" calls. Then one where the caller told me my name, told me my address, and asked if I was interested in receiving £250 of vouchers for something. I said yes to play along, but he then put the phone down on me. Very disturbed by this, and given the other comments here I do not know why this number is still allowed by Ofcom to operate.

I have just received a call from this number. The caller had a foreign accent and claimed to be from the NHS. He was able to quote my name, address and NI Number. When I said I didn't believe him and not to call me again he said I was a b**ch who liked to f*** every night at which point I hung up. Very disturbing call especially since he has all my details.

Get calls from this number every day, most the time they don't even speak to me but today they told me I have a virus in my computer and need to let them help me, advised them I work in ICT for the local authority so knew there wasn't anything wrong with my computer. He said I didn't understand and I needed to give him urgent access to my laptop so he could fix the problem. Told him again not to be silly and that as I work in ICT specifically dealing with web threats I know there is noting wrong with my PC. He told me he didn't care where I worked or what I did and that I would be sorry when someone stole all my info from my PC. Hmm advised him I thought the only person trying to steal info from my PC was him, he called me a silly cow and hung up!!

People that can hardly speak English reading from a script when I started asking questions he coudnt answer me didn't understand they say my computer has a virus or errors even when I say it's never been in the Internet they still say yes you have a virus errors etc,they ask you to switch on computer press this key press that key etc just a scam totally all they want is your credit card or debit card then you can wave goodbye to your money total scam there is nothing wrong with your computer just people who can't speak proper English and i am not racist at all trying to rip you off and steal what money you have and they asked for the last house owner do all info was incorrect rip off merchants

Just had this number call. Reading the previous comments here, this is the well-known “Microsoft-here-you-have-a virus-on-your-computer-let-us-remove-it-for-you”. If you let them hook up your computer to theirs by remote control, say bye-bye to your bank account, etc. They're scammers pure and simple, but clever with it. The fact is, the errors they show you deep in your computer system are normal and temporary and absolutely nothing to worry about. Also, picking up the phone to scammers is the worst thing you can do, as it confirms to the other end yours is a proper phone number which will now be sold on to every piece of scum in the known universe. This explains any silent treatment at the other end. Let the phone ring until the other end gets fed up and ends the call, then dial 1471 and note down the number. Google it to see what scum has tried to get you to allow them to waste your time and stress you out to boot. In my own case a good 95% and more calls are in this category. One day I’m going to live in a world where all such useless lowlifes are sent to a remote planet in outer space and quarantined there.

Foreign accent and is asking for MRS (I am Miss)someone whose surname sounds a bit like mine so obviously got list from somewhere. Told him that I asked him not to ring me again after calling before but he said he has never called me and if I would just listen to him as I don''t understand how important the call is?????.
