This number called me. The 02031 gave it away as probable junk. Simply lifted the receiver and left it on the desk without listening to it. Checked this website for the number. Read the comments. Put the number in my blocklist. Put the receiver back on the hook. Simples.

Either spoofs my local town code or the neighbouring one so cannot filter. Calls every day at least once for months. -

Jeb reported Misha with the number +442031988103 as Harassment calls
A young Indian sounding female called at 0830 this morning stating that she was from BT and that my internet would be cut off in the next hour if that was ok. She said when asked that this was due to illegal activity on my connection. Being as I had only just started my first coffee of the day the female got an earful of language she may need to get translated.

Margie reported unknown with the number 02031988103 as Harassment calls
Woken up at 8.16am by a woman with an Asian accent asking for me by name. I asked her who was calling but couldn't understand her reply. She then said that she'd seen I had been having trouble with my credit card. When I interrupted her to ask how she got my number she hung up. I work late and was annoyed at being woken so early. I get a lot of nuisance calls so tend to leave my answer machine on. I only answered on this occasion because I was expecting a call from my health centre whose prefix is also 0203. I am intrigued to know what she was planning to do about the problems I'm supposed to be having with my credit card as I don't actually have a credit card! I've had all the usual cold call scams - computer, PPI, accident compensation etc but this one is a new one to me and haven't seen it mentioned by other commenters. Be warned everyone ... They've thought of yet another way to scam us!

Decent Englishman reported Some stupid sounding Indian with the number 02031988103 as Cost trap
Wanted to fix my computer but wanted my debit card number first. Is the guy a total idiot? I couldn't really understand a word he said but thought I'd string him along for a while to save others. Told him my PC took ages to start so he would have to wait because I definitely had problems with it. Kept him on the line for a while whilst I got on with some work.

Woman with heavy Indian accent called this morning at 8:58 telling me she was calling from BT about my internet connection. She knew my name; where did she get it from?? I told her I'm not even with BT and she hung up. Yet another successful candidate to grace the ever-growing list of scam numbers that appear on my caller display as 'ARSEHOLES'...

Tony reported number +442031988103 as Junk call from 02031988103
Yesterday from TalkTalk but today from BT Openreach! to tell me someone else is using my IP address without my knowledge and he can help me sort it out on my computer apparently. I asked for his number so I could ring back and he gave me 02032863638 so no doubt that can also be added onto this list.

Received call at 8.35 am on a Saturday when I was still asleep. No sound at other end when I answered. I have now blocked the number on my phone having read this site. Further Private call at 09.15. Caller (male) said hello then when I responded did not speak. Could be connected? I am not well at this time and this is annoying.

These guys often call me. Pretending to be from Microsoft or Talk Talk to help me with a problem on my computer. Not being in work at the moment I have a personal target for how long I can string them along. Longest is 44 minutes before they give up but usually 20 minutes or so.
If all of us just string them along (don't go near your computer, just pretend) then they'll possibly abandon their scam calls (at least they're not bothering some less capable person whilst we do this). -

He said he was ringing from a Liverpool Attorney about a car accident that I had last year. He gave wrong information when pressed for information. He said he was ringing from 0151 624 1003 but on 1471 the number came up as 0203 198 8103. Nothing but harassment these calls.

a) Know the call is a scam
and
b) If I really had a problem that I couldn't fix myself I very much doubt they'd they'd have the technical skills to help.
Occasionally if I have a rare idle moment I'll play with them.
If they tell me I have a problem with my Windows, I tell them I work in a basement, don't have any windows and start bending their ear about how awful my employer is to shut me away in a basement etc. They tend to terminate the call quite quickly.
Another ruse is to justgo along with everything they ask me to do. They usually get frustrated very quickly because they tend to start with press and hold the 'Windows Key' and then press 'R'. Which I dutifully do. Then then tell me to type in the box. What box? They eventually get very frustrated with the 'dumb user'and hang up, or they finally ask me what version of Windows I'm using and I innocently reply Linux. They tend to give up at that point, I'm not sure if that's because they don't have a script to cover that scenario or because they realise that people who use alternate operating systems have a lower probability of being gullible enough to scam.
