Just received a fake call (pre-recoded) claiming to be from HMRC!
Claiming my mum was "going to get sued" and told her to call back on the following number;
0203 322 4298
it's not HMRC.
I've passed it onto HMRC IN London and to the local police and the Met Police Fraud Unit.
If you receive a call like this do not call the number they are simply scamming people Ito giving their bank details, frightening old people like mum is wrong and is also a crime.
I worked for HMRC for 10 years, we never call a person directly we always sent letters and gave them a central call centre number to call them back.
